Cruz finished 8 weeks of pre-agility last night! I am so, so proud of my little team mate. Going from knowing nothing (except what you watch on tv) to what we know now is a huge improvement. We are now comfortable with tunnels and tables; working mini sequences (usually multi-wraps with 1 obstacle); working on 2o2o contacts; and a whole ton of body awareness exercises. Last night we were introduced to the teeter, and considering Cruz can be noise reactive with loud, sudden noises, he did really well! Didn't even flinch at the banging!
Cruz is a little spit fire, which is scary sometimes considering I am a VERY novice handler. Learning something new and keeping up with the little speed demon is super challenging! We start Agility 1 in two weeks, and I've signed up for a couple of workshops and an online recallers course (supposed to strengthen relationship through short, daily games/exercises). Lots coming up on the horizon for this little team! Our trainer told us that Cruz is "a little superstar in the making," which is huge coming from her seeing as she is a Canadian agility world champ!
