well...Ruckus has a fault

He has taken to digging out my flower pots. I'm not thrilled with this and Im not sure what actions to take to stop him. I have yet to catch him red handed. Any suggestions?

I gave up on planting out flower pots. Who needs them anyway when you've got the dog to look at.

Okay, now you got me - I thought it was you posting under a different name, are you tricking us or are there really 2 shelties called Ruckus?!

If there is then I am sorry for being flippant! Yes the do grow out of digging pot plants. But you can try giving him a little sand box, that seemed to cure my two from digging up plants and pulling the lemons off my dwarf potted lemon tree(although they still liked to chew on tan bark). Heres the little sandbox I made - it was just a plastic under the bed container.

Bella is a digger too. I am going to try your sand box idea. I had also read (Ian Dunbar) that if you bury some awesome to die for toy or treat or bone in the place you would allow them to dig that more than likely they will continue to dig in that spot.. "the california gold rush" theory. They struck gold there once why dig somewhere else?

I think its just a dog thing. I was thinking maybe it was a female thing cause Bella is my first female and my first digger. She is always so proud of herself till i say "shame on you" and then i feel bad cause i think its something she needs to do but omg what a mess..next trip to walmart going to get the box and sand, maybe even a kiddie pool
