Went back to work, Minnie did well

After reading Glenn's experience with Willow shortly before my experience with Brodie - I would tend to agree with you!
Piper was awful...he was still having the odd accident when I had him neutered at 2 and Finnie at 16 months had an accident about a month ago (that one was my fault) but I doubt he'd hold it for 8 hours even now!

Honestly, it's a toss-up and I'm convinced house training time depends on the dog. Barkley, our lone boy, trained quickly and easily. Sprite and Flurry, both girls, took forever....Flurry almost a year!!! She got so smart she would hide her "accidents" in corners of the living room. :eek2:

Gee thanks! Lol

I have found the easiest way to limit accidents is to limit food and water access. I am NOT suggesting that for a puppy, btw. But Gavin eats 2x a day and poops 2x a day like clockwork. Water is trickier. He doesn't drink much when I am not home since he KNOWS he won't be able to pee for a while. He drinks a lot when he wakes and a lot was soon as I get home since knows he has a few hours to pee it out before I leave (or go to sleep). I did pick up his water in the evenings (around 7:30-8) when I was trying to get him to NOT wake me up for a potty break when he was maybe 4-5 months old. He just learned to self regulate, smart boy

That's wonderful Karen that it's going so well! It sounds like you got a good girl there. I'm beginning to think girls are easier than boys lol!

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha That made me laugh - a lot.

Tully was a nightmare. Something I always remember is when people have come on the forum with a high energy Sheltie it is far more common to be a girl. That said, Tully grew into a lovely mannered lady. Boys never grow up!
