At first it was this:

When it's warm/hot and during the day (i.e. we are not in the bedroom) Riley sleeps in the dining room on the tiled floor, just off the carpet and right in the path of the cold air coming off the air conditioner. He will also sleep on the tiled entryway in front of the door (but then he can't keep an eye on me as well)
During the rest of the year he sleeps in his "caves"- under the coffee table and under the end table which is in the corner between the two couches.
At night he typically sleeps in his favorite cave- under the bed (its carpeted flooring), but he does curl up at my feet on the bed if its chilly enough (or the AC is blowing right on the bed). He also has a really nice dog bed that gets used in the winter.
Oh, and his two oddball places are in the bay window (he can climb up from the couch and people watch all day) and, when it's cold and snowing, outside on the deck- he loves laying in the snow and would stay out for hours if I let him

Koko will come say goodnight on the bed for a few minutes but its still too hot to stay up with us for long, so off he goes to the tile, right where the AC can blow on him. Will be interested to see if he wants to sleep with us during the winter. We have a queen bed, and he's 24 lbs
If Fillion isn't on the couch or futon, he seems to prefer a roof over his head. So he likes under the kitchen table, or under the sofa table in the hall. He will sleep at the foot of the bed if I put him up there (usually at 3 or 4 am
)

As a puppy, Lerwick liked to sleep on a pile of toys. He also loved sleeping in the middle of the cat's ball track.
When he was around 6 months old, my sister was visiting and taught him to jump up on the bed with her. So now, as I don't need to tell you, you can't keep him off the bed.
He will also sleep on (or sometimes in front of, beside, or behind) the couch in the basement when I'm down here on my computer.
If we're upstairs, especially if I'm in the kitchen and Mike is elsewhere, he will sleep beside the couch, where he can keep an eye on everything.

JacqueZ: Yah Koko has that expression about his son a lot. You can almost hear the "This is not my fault, its his mother's" line

Lerwick reminds me very much of Dickens!
Beau' favorite place to sleep is the closet in the living room. (I Know that sounds bad, but, he picked it out the first day he came home)
Second favorite place is the backs of my couch cushions. They are completely smashed to heck, but, oh well, its Beau's
Third place is the bathroom. And then he listens for me to stop snoring in the morning before he jumps up in my bed and gets under the cover with me.
