Wheels for the Colonel

The good Colonel has a reprieve! I'm glad he's doing better on the meds and I really hope the wheels will perk him up and allow him to enjoy the things he loves for as long as he can. You are going through a lot with him and Layla both, Chris. Take care of yourself as well.
I am -- today is a rest day for me. The gym has been going by the wayside -- just not enough energy.

Colonel Underpants took a bad turn last week. He couldn't stand well, he refused to eat, and he was lethargic. We truly thought this was the time, but we made an appointment for Dr. Paul to look at him. (But also penciled in a home visit for Monday evening to send him on if that became necessary.) Dr. Paul was pretty optimistic, however. He sent us home with new meds and an appetite enhanced. Lo and behold, it worked!

Still, the back leg weakness persists. Beckon's beloved walks to the cul de sac and Bitsy's Hollow seemed to be out -- a sure recipe for depression. So yesterday, I thought, "What the ell-hay." I ordered a refurbished, like-new wheelchair from Walkin n' Wheels. It should arrive early next week. Wish us luck!!
I'm glad Colonel Underpants is eating again.
