When Rescue Goes Wrong

I am still astounded that no court/judge/police official has demanded that Piper be presented to prove that she's still alive and in the custody of Sanderbeck. With another 6-week wait now, she will almost surely have been "placed" by COSR, which has been advertising her for adoption.

What a travesty of justice!!! Horrifying. Not to mention the thousands of dollars this will add to Veronica's legal bill.

Did I read a post that they had a search warrant and went to the house but didn't go in? Is this confirmed or just rumor?

That is correct. They decided not to enter because there were dogs loose in the house.

Wow, just wow... you don't go to a house with a search warrant in hand and not complete your search. Either the homeowner secures the dogs or animal control is called for assistance in securing them. Whichever way it goes, that search warrant is being executed and the search completed.

Thank you Ann for posting this...
It IS the most comprehensive article outlining the events of the case.

IT IS sobering and I only hope and pray Piper is reunited with her true owner and that anyone involved in keeping Piper from her family pays the price... if not in this world ... the next!

I will most certainly follow the advice outlined in the article. The whole thing scares me to death! My boys are my world! I will do everything in my power to protect them!

I am at a loss for words.
Praying for Piper and I will donate to help...

I shared the article on FB. I am appalled at the way all the "officials" in this horrific tale have behaved--from the officers not following through on an inspection, to the court treating a living breathing animal with the same regard as a stolen watch, to the Ohio ASPCA for bankrolling this.

the Ohio ASPCA for bankrolling this.

Is that how they are funding keeping Piper away from her owner???
I wondered how a rescue group could afford to pay any $10k bond.

I never have given money to the ASPCA and NEVER WILL!

I never have given money to the ASPCA and NEVER WILL!

They only had to pay $155 to secure the bond.
