Why do they eat this stuff????

Crate or x pen when you not supervise. Freedom to stay home alone unsupervised has to be earned. I also spend fortune on bully sticks, flossies and other appropriate chewies which are always available so it is easy to make right choice.
As recent episode with Bentley can confirm it is VERY nerve wrecking and $$$$ proposition.
 
The BC story was hilarious!!
We crate our two at night and when we are out so that they can't get into anything.
Mikos is far more obvious when he is bored, he will grab the TV remote and run just to get someone up from the couch and let them know it's time to play!

That was absolutely hilarious....for me at least.
 
I think his problem is most likely boredom. I would love to do as sheltieche suggested but he is such a chewer they would all be gone in no time plus Maggie can get quite bitchy when it comes to food items. He can no longer have a kong even the black one as he can chew it to pieces. I have gotten toys that are supposed to be strong enough for even the strongest chewers...and give that boy a half hour and he will chew. I have been playing and working with him a bit more and he has been chewing on some marrow bones and that makes him happy.
He is crated when we travel.
 
Knock on wood . . . it seems that there is finally a bad habit that Aonghus does not have! He has never chewed up anything inappropriate. Woo hoo, finally he is a good boy about something!! Lol.:winkgrin:

This was even better than when I arrived home years ago to our BC standing at the top of the stairs in a sea of tiny static filled styrofoam balls that had been in the bean bag chair he destroyed!
