Why do they go in circles?

Circles

Acres has done the run arround the dinning room table since he was a pup(now 12). Any time someone his leaving is time to run arround the table. It gets real bad when I leave. Now if I say to him "You want to go for a car ride?" It gets right down crazy, arround the table, spins at the door back to arround the table, spins at the door till the leash goes on. Then it's hold leash in mouth, sit and wait to go for the car ride.:wink2:

Danny circles when he knows there is a real tasty dinner for him. He runs in circles and spins when herding the birds especially purple martins who fly real low. It almost looks like they are playing with him. When his dad plays with him he does zoomies and flat spins and circles him. As for burping - if you didn't know any better you would think it was my husband burping. My husband calls them his big boy burps.

Hmmm ... wonder if the burping is a male thing ... LOL! No offense to the males on this list! ;)

Monet always goes counter-clockwise. He'll be in his crate at night waiting for dinner and spinning in circles. He's the only one that I have right now that does this. He'll be beside the gate of the fence and just going around and around and around. For no obvious reason.
From what I've read and heard tight circling is just a trait that some herding dogs have. And, is normal.
