Zak starts obedience classes

Hello. You've probably seen Raya post here a bunch regarding our young puppy Zoey, I registered when we got her but have mostly been lurking since. However, I would like to take a moment here to see if I can't get some advice on a topic I am interested in but not very well educated.

It's important to me and my sanity to have a very well behaved dog. We're almost done our 8 week puppy course with petsmart and that's been great for Zoey to learn some socialization and a few tricks; but mostly it's an owner's education class. I am interested in obedience classes for Zoey but as I'm sure you will all notice, there are many options and most of them are quite expensive. I would love to say money isn't a factor but it is. We don't mind investing but would like to get it right on the first try. I have noticed some owners here are from Ontario and we're located in the GTA, I was hoping they might have some consumer knowledge for us.

Is there a recommended school or trainer in the GTA? I ask here because our dogs are alike and your opinion carries a lot more weight than what the average person may recommend.

Is there an ideal age for obedience classes to begin? Zoey is just over 4 months right now. We're also interested in casual agility, should this be something we work on after classes or will it not matter?

There might be more that I'm missing but for now I'm mostly interested in seeking out trust worthy opinions.

Thanks.
