Zukes Sold To Nestle Purina

Remember, even though the bag changed, they hadn't been bought out yet. As for different ingredients, no clue. I only used to buy the peanut butter flavor. Curious to see what the company says. I think I have over 20 bags now.

20?!? :eek2: I think you take the cake on this one!

I think I've only bought the peanut butter flavor once. I have never purchased pork. Maybe I'll just buy a small bag of those two to save. Chicken, Salmon and Rabbit have been my go-to flavors. Just bought duck for the first time last week.
 
I did hear back from my head office. There is no indication that Nestlé will change anything. Though it it is possible they might change their supply sources eventually.

If you are truly concerned, then I would write nestle and tell them to leave it alone. I can only hope that they will stick to...if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I would keep your current bag and compare ingredients in a few months (it will take that long for current inventory supplies to deplete in the warehouses and individual stores).
 
I usually switch around with treats to keep things interesting. Sometimes I use Zukes, sometimes Bil-jac, sometimes homemade, sometimes just cheese or turkey hotdogs. Although, with a highly food motivated sheltie, I'm not sure how necessary that is. I am a little worried about Purina owning Zukes, but I probably won't stop buying it until I find or hear about a big change in ingredients or manufacturing. Fortunately, there are quite a few options for me since my dog isn't food sensitive or picky.

I'm very grateful this forum keeps me informed!

Also, my recent Zukes purchases I haven't really paid attention to the bags for any differences. I'll try to remember to check when I get home.

FYI regarding Zukes, which my dog loves:

Locally, to purchased a pound, is about 12-13 dollars. On amazon, it's 9.50-10.00.
 
Anyone try "Pet Botanics" similar product? The big PS supestore had them. I am hoping they smell better than Zuke's. Supposed to have limited ingredients, none of the fillers, etc.

No, but I was looking at some of their training treats on Amazon last night. I didn't buy anything, but was just browsing what training treats they had. Let me know if you get some..
 
I bought beef flavor -- just opened the packet. It smells like beef and not gasoline. The dogs loved them. They are moist enough to break in half without crumbling. Did I mention they don't smell like gasoline?
