2 new "babies"

Sheltie4, adoption "fits" for us...it is not for everyone but we love having the little rescues. From your signature it looks like you have a full house too...are your little ones rescues?

Sheltie4...just remembered that it was 4 of your rescues who I saw featured on SN's pictures yesterday...all adorable!! :) I think my brain is frozen with all our sub-zero weather. :(

No full house here Trini- Hanna is an only, most I have ever had together is 2 shelties, 2 cats, 2 hedgehogs, a hamster and one frog :smile2:

After being dogless for a while ( too much moving) I had a pom for a short 6 months last year but he died from a seizure after eating poisonous mushrooms. He was such a sweetie - very spunky with a friendly personality. We didn't wait very long to get Hanna and now that I know about the mushroom in this area we are very careful! Currently have no plans to add another this year.

Welcome home Dakota and Dante, boy did you two hit the mother lode! Congratulations Trini for adding these two sweet little souls to your family. I'm sure they are already realizing what a wonderful home they are now a part of. Thank you for taking these lost little souls in when they don't seem to fit anywhere else. It sounds like you and your husband puppy love works magic on the babies. Hugs and kisses for everyone, job well done.

Congratulations Trini! What a wonderful mommy and daddy you two are to rescue these wonderful babies in need!:biggrin2: BIG hugs to you and all the rescues!!:hugs

How wonderful you were all connected. They get to live their lives out together and it sounds like it is heaven for dogs at your place. God Bless you and you fur family.

Well, call me a wimp for thinking my hands are full with 3 and a nut-case cat!!

Seriously now, I believe I saw Dakota and Dante on the Tri State Sheltie rescue website. We have donated to them off and on since the fundraising drive they had for Petunia who needed surgery. They seem like a good group.

They are just two adorable boys and I'm so glad to hear they have smoothly integrated into your home, including sharing a bed with your Yorkie, LOL. I see this in the shelter locally where I volunteer a lot, dogs with no real issues, just a run of bad luck, who need homes.

Thank you so much for giving these older boys a loving, stable home, I know they will repay you a thousand-fold. I'd love to see more pictures of them.

I had an oversized Pom as a foster once and he was a GREAT dog. Made me laugh every hour with his antics, and had pogo sticks for legs. They are really nice dogs.

Best wishes from our family for a wonderful future for you all.

Eva, I realize my reply was confusing...I answered both you and Sheltie4 in the same reply and it was her signature I was referring to. Sorry for the confusion...I do know Hanna is your one and only...and such a pretty one and only. :)

Sharon, no one who does volunteer work in a shelter could ever be considered a whimp! I work with rescue groups because I don't think I am emotionlly strong enough to work in a shelter where the sad choice often has to be made to put down a wonderful animal simply because the numbers are too overwhelming. I have huge admiration for the people who volunteer or work full time in shelters.

Yes, D&D were with Tri-State and it is a really caring rescue that takes in any sheltie, sheltie combo, (and even sheltie "wanta-bees" when they have the space) that are in need of help...no matter their age or health. They are truly what "rescue" is supposed to be. My connection is that I do home checks for them when an application comes up in my area.

I love the oversized Pommies like the one you fostered...all of mine have been "biggies"...Dante is the smallest I have had at only 11 pounds. They are delightful dogs, full of fun and just plain silly at times...but also smart and extremely loving. I have had 5 over the years and every single one has been a truly wonderful companion who brought so much love and laughter into our lives...and so many tears when they passed.

Trini

Sullivan, Internette, Tab and Margi...thank-you to each of you for the good wishes for D&D. My dogs all congregate in a circle around me whenever I am on the computer...so I have been reading each welcome to D&D and telling them how many friends they have on SN. I am not sure if that is what impresses them or if it is the jar of charlie bear cookies that sit next to my computer that they find so fascinating! LOL I suspect it might be the cookies!
