Sharon, no one who does volunteer work in a shelter could ever be considered a whimp! I work with rescue groups because I don't think I am emotionlly strong enough to work in a shelter where the sad choice often has to be made to put down a wonderful animal simply because the numbers are too overwhelming. I have huge admiration for the people who volunteer or work full time in shelters.

Thanks for the kind words. Lucky for me the shelter I volunteer at is a private one that is no-kill. We keep 'em as long as it takes and also have a few that are unadoptable that will live out their lives there with the kennel staff and volunteers filling in for family. I don't think I could emotionally handle putting healthy dogs to sleep.

Yep, I have developed a soft spot for Poms. A gal in our dog club does high-level agility with her little girl - she's a dynamo! They really are fun.

I'm smiling at the picture of 9 dogs grouped around you while you are on the computer - all 3 of mine surround me when I do my computer time as well, only I don't have any cookies in here!
