2011 Nationals Forum Meetup

I'm with missjennygirl so whatever she does, I do. And since this is my first National I don't want to miss anything going on there. But it sounds like great fun to arrange a pizza meet! If Wednesday night is the best for everyone and the show schedule, we can firm up details closer to. What a great opportunity to meet the people we talk to every day on this Forum...how could we pass that up? :wink2:

That's like me. I am riding with Jennifer. She knows better than to let me drive. The first time I went to her house I got lost. The sad thing is -

...her house is right beside the college I used to go to. :eek2: :lol: I get lost so easily!
 
We aren't 100% sure if we are going yet or not. There is another non-Sheltie event the weekend before that we normally attend in Michigan so there are other factors to consider.

The primary reason for us to go is the Agility trial and that is on Monday. I'm waiting for them to post a premium to find out if entry will be by Lottery Draw, First Come-First Served or All Comers. If its Lottery or First Come, I'll need to wait for confirmation that I got into the trial before setting firm plans.

There is just something about running at Nationals that is appealing even though he definitely won't be the fastest dog on the course. I'll have to try to get another leg in Open JWW so I have a chance to Title at Nationals.

Tuesday may end up being a sight seeing day for us since we don't do confirmation. If the forum members are going to meet up on Wednesday then I have to convince DH to hang around until Thursday AM.
 
I'm still not 100% sure if I am going myself, BUT. If they say no there are other ways I might could go instead of using vacation time (I can take off from work with no pay, but doing it that way would mean I would be on watch for the next year - in other words mess up even once and I would be in hot water :rolleyes2:). I am going to try my very best to go. I want to go so bad I can taste it!

I can't even ask off for the time until the middle/end of December, which isn't an ideal time to ask off from work anyway. At that time everybody is still worried about making it through Christmas, and everybody is hateful and in a bad mood. Ever been cussed out because somebody couldn't find ornament hooks?


Yeah. It's about as appealing as it sounds.

If I get to go I am going to buy new clothes. I haven't bought myself new clothes in ages!
 
we will be staying at Travelodge and probably leaving on Wed... in case if we stay longer, meeting everyone would be great!!!!
 
Change of Schedule

Based on the new schedule, I will probably be skipping the 2011 National. They have moved agility to the Friday before, which means an extra day off that I am not willing to take. And that means if I wanted to enter River in "Most Versatile Sheltie" I would have to stay (and pay for) a minimum of 8 days in a hotel. So I think I will pass this year.

Where did you see that? I just looked at the website for the 2011 Nationals and Agility is still listed as being on Monday. (http://www.stlshelties.com/GSLSSCnew/National-SiteSchedule.html)

Reason I'm asking is I'm planning on going only for the Agility. Not sure if we are going to be able to stay for a meetup on a Wednesday though due to limited vacation availability.
