4-day trial next week

Cheryl, nice job! You ought to be very proud of those weave entries...he did especially well on the second one off the turn. Nice job!

The JWW run was nice...I couldn't imagine walking it and then having to wait 70 dogs before it was my turn! I'm impressed...I probably would forget the course. :smile2:

Wonder why Koji refused the dogwalk in your standard run...that seemed a bit odd for him.

Anyways, good luck tomorrow!

He did a great job!! I'm so proud.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the refusal on the DW. LOL. Duh. That was our 5 points off. I'm not sure. He does that in class too if I'm too far ahead of him. It's like he's not sure he's supposed to go up the ramp (or he's scared). Will need to figure that out and work on it. It's too bad hubby didn't really catch it on video.

Ohmigod. the 70 dogs. Yup, I kinda did forget it. I usually start to watch the teams running before me to recall the course. And when I saw I was at the bottom of the FOURTH page that's what I said to myself too, "I'm sooo going to forget the course". hehehe. Especially with Excellent, because they criss-cross and reuse jumps, I get all confused.

Those were a pair of very nice runs; even the JWW runs with the dropped bar on the double. You handled both courses very well.

Thank you. The Excellent one was a bit nerve wracking being my first one and all. ;) I was proud of my handling overall. Obviously, could use some work, but hey, I'm working on it!

Just got home after a long day of agility and a fun night of dinner and Spamalot! Going to go to bed, but wanted to say that Koji had an absolutely AWESOME JWW run this morning. Broke his stay, but beautiful run. I'll post video tomorrow. I can't wait for you guys to see it. I'm so proud of my little guy.

On the other hand, awful Standard run. He wasn't focusing it got ugly real fast. I got in about 5 obstacles before I had to call it quits. He seriously was not paying any attention. So off we went. My trainer was there with her dog (to run a bit later) and said, "don't kill him!". LOL. She knew what a very naughty boy he was.

So far, having a great weekend of agility (not Q'ing, but just fun). Here's to a great day tomorrow. Hope the contact gods are with me. I think they were with us in JWW this morning. ;)

ETA: I took a ton of photos. I haven't seen them yet. They look great on screen, so if they're horrible, I'll show you them as thumbnails, LOL. Here's hoping they're focused.

Here is Koji's JWW run from yesterday. Awesome run.
Saturday JWW ExA - 1st and Q

And today, we had a repeat. Another awesome run.
Sunday JWW ExA - 1st and Q

I am truly amazed by this lovely runs. Seriously, they are clean, they are (for the most part) very smooth. He's running great.

Standard was another story again today. Not sure what is going on with him. He was so worked up before the run, he was whining and whimpering. Something he has never done so I was already worried. I was trying to calm him down some. He went into the run crazy. I'd say that yes, I'm the one that gave up. Can someone help me out and tell me why he didn't take the DW. Do you think the angle was too hard? I noticed that he's pausing on the upside, then pushing up to keep going. He does that sometimes, versus just hitting it running. Obviously, need to more work on both ends of the DW.
Standard Run from Sunday

The thing I'm most proud of this weekend overall. His weaves. He has been awesome in his weaves (I'm not counting today's STD, I think by then I was giving up so I'm at fault). We have had some crazy angle entries and he's been doing great. Yay!

Other than that, STD if falling apart.
Tomorrow is our last day of trialling this weekend. It's just JWW (they're only running Excellent) so it should be a very short day. And yes, if you caught it.....if it's his 3rd Q.....well, I'm not going to say it an jinx it.

I gotta say, I won't ever do a long weekend like this unless it's close again. Travel time was about 25 minutes. If it was our typical one hour, forget it. So, I'm not participating in the 5-day weekend in May. Forget it. But, it was a lot of fun.

I saw a LOT of blues (and most of them were dark black and blues, I rarely see those) and a lot of Shelties in general.

We have a lot of work to do for standard. Mostly his DW, but his table needs work (mr. i'm not going to lie down, hmph!), and I need to work more on his A-frame contact. It looks good and he's not jumping quite as much, but he needs to get closer to the bottom before jumping. His teeter is looking a lot better, yay! No more fly-offs.

Great job on the JWW courses...Koji looked great!

As for the standard run...at least for getting him back on the dogwalk, you were definitely crowding him. You were standing too close to the dogwalk and he didn't have room to do his job.

You mean the first time he missed it completely and ran past it on the right? Or do you mean to get him back on it?

I noticed today, I was running really close to almost all the obstacles. Bleah. Something I'm trying to stop. AKC helps that because I don't have to run so fast, need to work on the crowding issue. :) Thanks.

Darnit! It's supposed to rain all night long and all day tomorrow. It was muddy after a couple days of dry weather (after heavy rain), so it'll be very very muddy. i may go anyways and see how bad it is. It's close enough that if I don't run, I won't care. I'm going to need a weeks worth of sleep after this.

VERY nice JWW runs, Cheryl. Hopefully the weather won't be too nasty today and you'll be able to finish off the XAJ.

I don't know what got into Koji's head with the dog walk; it was cute though when it put his paws up on it and looked over at you. His expression was just adorable... annoying because you wanted him on the DW but adorable none the less. (I swear their ability to be so darned cute keeps us from killing them at times.)
