A continuing Sca-ga

So last night I began getting Sca used to hard frisbees. Seems I misunderstood disc dog. In addition to the freestyle there appears to be a heave and fetch contest which is right up Sca's alley. So I decided to see what he thought of a hard one I had (from this team http://www.k9frisbee.com/new/index.php) Well he did good considering my throws were bad and it was dark :o. Except he was having a tougher time hanging on to it when coming back. A couple of times he dropped the frisbee then stepped on it with both front paws and went skiing, well like every novice skier after a short distance CRASH! :lol: No video because you can't laugh at my buddy, that is my job :winkgrin:

I can picture that! Poor guy. That's why Lexi can only have the small discs, if she gets the bigger one, she spends more time tripping over it!
 
We visited Bear the snob this morning (he ALMOST was social) to drop a check off then went touring. First by Scruffy Puppy so he does not think it is all about having his feet messed with. His buddy was there and had to visit him through the gate. We visited for enough then left to go next door to the vets. He got weighed and is down to 31.7 from his 33. He was a bit flabby and I cut him back with a target of 30 but last week could finally feel some ribs a small bit. I suspect 30-1 is his target weight so his dieting days are gone <insert starved looking sheltie begging> Then we headed back to the house. I think bringing him by for false alarms helps him when he has to go for real, but who knows.

He has taken to be a reserved Sheltie now. Before everyone was a buddy now he pauses some, it is his latest. I know it is not a bad experience that has him worrying so it is kind of strange.

Well back to being a frisbee launcher.....:rolleyes2:
 
Newton says to tell Sca that no matter how much he exercises and diets he will not have the trim and lithe figure that Newton has <insert smirking Newton face here>
 
So at 18 months Sca has become slightly snuggly. When I go to be he always plops down against me, he moves a bit later but always lands on me at first. He also has a new habit of jumping up on the couch and laying next to me. Right now he is between me and the arm with his chin on my ankle snoozing :cool:
 
Sca cooperated a small amount today and I think he might be under 18" now that he has filled out. I am hoping to get him measured for reference in a couple of weeks since there is agility just up the road at the Agribition Center the 15-16th. If so I think his recent jumps are actually at his height :cool: Now if we can get better at Flyball :o Though the recent target discussions gave me some home training ideas :cool:
