Oh my goodness - what a touching story. It is so nice to know of the reunion between siblings and they look so happy! I love the size difference, too. Reminds me of my own pups.
Bless his little heart. I am so Happy he was reunited with Solomon. It was just heart wrenching to see all he had been through I felt like I was looking at my Gypsy and just could not imagine letting something wrong with her go for so long. Bless all of you who took part in his care and his new family who will love him and Solomon for life.
http://skipjack.mediashare.com?selectedalbum=skipjack479281Hi Everyone.
I just stumbled on this forum. I am Jack, Ziggy and Solomon's new dad. Well, not so new now, as they have been with us for a while now. Ziggy is a handfull to say the least. After the adaptation period of being in a new place, they are both doing fantastic. Ziggy is a little trouble maker for Solomon. Ziggy, we think may be about 8 or 9 yrs old, not sure, and Solomon is over 11. Both get a lot of exercise. Solomon likes to walk with Fabio and get the mail and I usually give him a piece to carry back to the house. Ziggy likes to sit on the hill by the front door. He is a fast little guy, and YES he has the Napolean complex. He pushes his luck with Solomon all the time. Solomon has actually sat on him a few times to prove his dominance. It is really funny! Fabio is the king here.He is getting older too, at about 10. Like most of you out there, we have had a lot of shelties but no more than three at a time. I am getting older and, well, two are great but when you get three or more, it is a total pack! I am learning great communication skills for a deaf dog. I will let Ziggy out to pee at night and since he cannot hear, I use one of those really bright little $3.00 flashlights to point at the ground and he comes running to the light to chase it! He chases it right into the house. All in all, they are like three grumpy old stubborn men and have spats a lot. They bring us smiles all the time. Ziggy is growing his hair back nicely and Solomon is on daily 1/2 pill vetprofen. He has A LOT of arthritis, most likely from atrophy of being held in sationary places most of is life. The vetprofen is a wonder drug.I try to limit Solomon on daily activity, since Fabio likes to run run run from the house to the edge of the forest, chasing deer, squirrells and yard birds. Solomon will tend to try and keep up with him but he comes back slowly. I am so glad they are all in my life. They mean the world to us. Right now, it's really late and as I finish this post, I am looking at them all sound asleep on thier pillows over by the fireplace. It really does a heart good to know that when all is so troublesome in this crazy world, we have our babies to bring it all back into perspective. It is way past my bedtime.
Thank you so much for the update. Ziggy's story had touched me so much when I originally read it. It's so good to hear all three are doing so well together and great idea with the flashlight. Take care and welcome.
