I did bring the crate into the bedroom with me. It was a soft-sided crate, and I blocked off the back of it. He was right beside my bed so I could hear the slightest whimper or snuffle and be ready to bring him outside if necessary. He never woke me up.
I covered the bedding, first with a garbage bag, and then with an old towel. Bacca had an accident the first two nights, but like your baby, never said a peep. I recall he slept from 10 p.m. to about 5 a.m. After that, he never peed in his crate again at night. Occasionally during the day, he would have an accident, but by 12 weeks, that was virtually done.
I restricted his water 1 hour before bedtime, and made sure he peed before I brought him to bed. I don't agree with Narmowen about leaving water in the crate. I did NOT leave him water overnight.
The only real issue that I had with him was he liked to poop in my bedroom. I'd take him out, he'd do his business, then he'd do it again! But that too was pretty much done by 14 weeks or so, and just required me to have eyes on the back and side of my head! Simple!
I didn't say anything about leaving water in the crate. I definitely never left water in my puppies crates. I don't agree with restricting water before bedtime. She's making him go over 10 hours without water, which can lead to dehydration. Not good. Especially when she restricts his water starting at 9 pm, and doesn't give him anything to drink until 7 am at the earliest.

Can you blame me?
