Can you call the local school bus company for that area? Ask them if you can put a flyer in their buses. That is what they do up here. Kids see everything! Possibly offer an iPod or something that would be intrigueing to the kids, as a reward.

Also...how about a have a heart trap in the area? That is the humane traps that the shelters use. Maybe you can borrow one from a local shelter. I think Judy (sunchaser) mentioned in my thread about Ruffles that you can put something yummy in their. He is bound to be hungry.

Also...findtoto.com. They call houses in a circumference from where he was lost. A good friend of ours found their dog this way.

Local radio station.....call them and ask them to put a news bulletin out.

Local paper....place an ad with his picture.

You also are checking craigslist, daily, right? Someone could have found him and could be selling him to make a quick buck. And craigslist has a lost and found section as well.

I was on craigs list yesterday,and I had a dickens of a time finding the posting of angus.and after an hour,I still never found it.

all of these ideas are superb! I Think it is a great idea about the kids,radio etc.

Thanks.....I can't take credit for them. I just have been reading ideas that people are giving Judy for Ruffles, and just passed them along.

My heart is sick for Janet. I would just want to lay in a fetal position and cry....but getting out and doing something is so much better.

In addition to Ann's post....my husband's cousins Sheltie showed up 5 months after he ran away. Thin and scruffy but OK. He survived a NJ winter.

Does Angus have a microchip? If he does it may be worth getting the word out to local veterinarians as well, so that they can scan any new dogs that may come into their clinics.

My Sheltie, Callie, that I had growing up, got lost in the mountains in Austria for 2 weeks. Even though it was July, there was a freak snowstorm and she lived through that too.

She was found by the side of the road by a tour bus driving by and brought down to the nearest village. They fed her sausage and wiener schniztel until we could get back to bring her home to Paris. (Secretly, I don't think she wanted to leave).

All to say: You got to have hope! Even though we tend to think of them as spoiled princes and princesses, they are more resilient than you can imagine.

what is the closest shelter or animal hospital near Canton NC.

I just did a search,since I am not familiar with the area,but I intend to call each one of these places.And give them info about Angus,and your contact information Janet

Angus, Alan, Russell and you have been on my mind constantly. With so many prayers being said on behalf of Angus being found safe and sound, someone up there must be listening.
I am also so sorry about Willow. And I am angry that her people allowed this to happen to her.
 
Oh Janet, once again I'm in tears reading this. I can only imagine how you feel. I'm so sorry about little Willow and that you haven't found Angus yet. I'm contantly thinking about you guys and sending up prayers for Angus' safe return.

Please tell Alan and Russ that we are all praying for your family!
 
I can't find anything on Craigslist either. In what area(s) did you post Janet? I was just going to see if anyone had posted anything about finding him. I'm sure you're checking constantly, but I want to do something to help!

I checked and you are 11 hours from me. I really wish I was closer!
