Angus is missing

I submitted an ad on Ebay under lost and found. Ebay is going to send a confirmation to Janet so she can approve the flyer I made. In addition, I found a site called www.qualitydogs.com I submitted an ad on this page also.
There are so many websites out there....I don't know which ones are better than others!!!

Wonder if we should set aside a time tonight to all pray at the same time? I feel so helpless way down here in SW FLorida and feel so sick over Willow and Angus. I can only imagine how awful Janet, Alan and Russel must be feeling as we all know how we would be at this moment. God bring that boy home.
 
Microchip?

Please tell me he's micro-chipped with homeagain or another service. I wish so bad he was if he were not. HomeAgain has a program where as soon as your dog is reported missing they send out emails to everyone in the 25 miles area that is a HomeAgain member... who has a pet micro-chipped with Homeagain notifying them that there is a lost pet in your area. Also, they send information to all vets, shelters and rescues in the area.
If he isn't microchipped you could call all vets, shelters and the rescues yourself if you have not done that already. And don't just limit to the vets and shelter nearby... a lost sheltie can stray quite a distance. Not to mention if he possibly was picked up by someone and drove in a car to a shelter for drop off.

I'm thinking of you Janet and his trial owner as well. I'm sure his trial owner probably feels totally responsible and feels awful for it. I honestly don't know if I would have thought of one slipping out through a window screen.

On a positive note. When I was growing up, we had a golden retriever get out on my grandpa, who was taken care of them, while we were going on vacation. He was gone for two weeks ,when we were just about to give up hope, he shows up on our doorsteps... very dirty and slightly skinny, but happy! Don't give up yet.

I feel as helpless as you do being I live in SE Texas, BUT like you I am also praying for there family. I think it's a great idea to get a prayer chain started at the same time :yes:. Let me know what time you think is good and I'll pray at that moment! :sadsmile:
 
Ok,just an update on phone calls I have done since I have been home from work.

I had conversation with Haywood County,which takes in strays also from Camden.They have no new pets brought in by anyone that have been found.I will stress...they need to be kept in contact with on a daily basis.She recommended it.

In case he is brought in,and is hurt,they will do what they can for him,and if need be he will be brought to the nearest ER vet clinic.Since I personally know Angus,and his temperment,I told her he is very friendly,and givin so,if he is ok,he will be rehomed once he is vet checked and cleared.
If proper ID cannot be givin,he will be rehomed after a period of time.

She offered me a few contacts:

hours are 5pm-8am
Animals are brought here either by the person that found the animal that needs care.Although Camden is large,many people do bring animals here,because of it being staffed thru night hours.

I did speek with a person there,they said protocol is when they find an animal(heaven forbid) they do bring it to the shelter to identify the animal by way of scanning or using ID info found on the dog.So in worst case scenario,and I know its a terrible thing,but Janet will be notified by them.

The only people I did not reach was the clinic as they were not open or answering calls.hours are 5pm-8am

She told me right at the moment,Janet is doing everything she possibly can to get the word out.Trying to be as vocal as possible and offering a reward is a good idea.

I cannot thank all of you enough for doing some leg work today,in getting a FaceBook & Ebay posting created.

Anyone that can offer any other avenues to call or inquire,please do pass the info along.

Short of Janet doing a radio community announcement,which is usually always free,by calling the local radio staitons,this is also a good way to get word out.Doing a newspaper article,with daily news or with free shopper paper is also a good idea.

We need to keep calling every day.Janet,if you can read this,please pass this info along to the trial home.
 
Just one other idea, Michele. I don't know if they'd do this where Janet is, but our local TV stations are really good about posting a picture of lost pets during the local news with an announcement to people if they've seen the pet to please contact the station. It's mostly the weather people who do it, but if it's possible to get it on TV during any local newscast it's worth a shot. I'd try calling the local stations and see if they do it.

The really cool thing is that when the pet is found, they also announce it. Pictures can be sent to stations by email with Angus' information so it would be easy to do.
