Angus is missing

I agree with this too. Had it been me I would have been out there everyday searching for him and posting lost dog ads all over the city and internet. It would have been me going to the shelter each night AND calling WHILE at work. And I would have done that even if for some reason I didn't intend to keep him, I'd consider it my responsibility since I was the one who lost him in the first place!

same here. I don't even think I would be able to go back to work until I found my dog. I'd be going insane. I've been checking craigslist daily for Angus and Ruffles. I was shocked that Angus' lost dog post was a week old. No one was even updating it. I've been doing my best to update it every day or so.

....and remember folks seldom do we know the situation. Who is working how much, who is broke, family obligations, health issues, etc.

From what I have seen there has been a lot of effort put out. Lots of people helped Angus (even if some actions were deemed a mistake the intention was to help him) and while not found I think the help has narrowed the search area. There is a decent chance he is begging the camping area and scavenging trash :(. That he has been spotted is a HUGE thing that we should be thankful of as his eventual ride back to home/safety is still possible and likely probable.

A smile and thank you opens more door than a scowl and Angus needs some open doors to get home. So in my opinion support the efforts made by those that you think are pulling and ignore those that you think are not :wink2:

Bad internet connection here at the beach...not sure if this post will make it.
Please stop bashing Amber, you do not know her. She is not online. I've always had slow answer to cell phone messages but she is a good person and yes, she is putting up posters and yes she did have her neighbors out looking and YES some people IN WNC DO SHOOT TRESPASSERS so please stop flying off the handle.

I spoke with my friends at WLOS more than 2 weeks ago and was told categorically that they do not do "lost dog" stories unless the dog is a service dog.

I just got off the phone with Michele and a lady in Franklin who found a sheltie. Doesn't appear that the sheltie she found was Angus as this dog is older, does tricks, and has a brown face. I'm still exchanging email info with her so that she can look for Angus as well. She is to send me the picture of the sheltie she found, and I'll do my best to help her in locating his owners. It is a bit hard to keep up with the internet postings of the search when internet is not readily available.

Prayer for Angus

Father
We ask you to help us find ANGUS,
our dear pet who is now lost.
We know that you placed animals on the earth
for many reasons, including companionship for man.
We therefore ask you to help us find our lost companion,
and pray that You will keep him safe
and protect him from harm until he is found.
We join our prayers with St. Francis,
St. Anthony of Padua, and all the saints,
and pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

I'm very sad that this sheltie doesn't appear to be Angus  Please continue to update us.

I just posted another craigslist post in the asheville pets section. I switch back and forth between pets and lost and found. They don't allow you to post in both on the same day.

I must say I am getting a bit uncomfortable with all the recriminations, I thought we were a friendly bunch here. Lets focus on bringing Angus home.

I hadnt realised someone had him for a while. That at least is good news - he has had a good feed and clean up so will be in much better condition than I thought. Lets hope someone else has taken him in again. I left Tully at a friends last week and she made a break for home - thankfully the person minding her was able to locate her quickly! Seeing what can happen with a sheltie intent to get back home I dont think I will be doing that again.

Angus we are all worried about you - please come home.

After Janet's last post, I went through all of Janet's posts on this thread.

Not once did Janet ask for help and not once did Janet say thank-you for any of our suggestions, e-mails, craigslist posting, etc.

I am coming to the conclusion that the extent of our involvement is not really what Janet wants at this time. We heard from Michele, that she wants this, but not from Janet herself.

I am sorry Janet, for stepping on your toes.

I wish you all the best with finding Angus.

I will continue to keep him in my prayers.

Enjoy the beach.

Sorry, Janet, you're right, I really don't know what's going on and shouldn't be commenting. I didn't meant to upset you, you have enough on your plate right now. I'll keep my thoughts to my self and instead hope and pray for Angus' safe return.
