Sending along wishes for a good vacation and hope it helps Ginny. I will say some prayers for her also. I just wonder what happened to change her so much.

Our vacation was pretty good, Toby and Sadie had a blast but Ginny stayed inside most of the time. She came out of her shell a little and even played with my family and the other dogs, but more or less reverted back to her old behaviour once we got home. She seems more comfortable walking around the house than before but won't play with toys or the other dogs.

I've moved her crate to the living room to stop her from running upstairs to hide by herself.

I brought her to the vets last friday and to make a long story short, she couldn't find anything wrong with her. She's prescribed her Zylkene (which is now available in Canada), to try and get her off of the Xanax.

The sheltie rescue arranged for a behaviorist to come to our house tomorrow, to see if she could help me with Toby and Ginny. Toby's been doing great so I hope she can give me some advice on dealing with Ginny. :(

I thought so about you during your vacation. I'm at least glad that Toby had a good time, but am sorry to hear that Ginny has not found her "old" self. Glad you've got a behaviorist coming tomorrow.

Someone pointed me to a website that has some good information regarding dealing with dogs with anxiety: www.fearfuldogs.com. I started looking through the site this weekend.

Thanks, I glimpsed through that site and blog a few months ago, as I also had a friend refer me to it. I didn't find it all that helpful for dealing with Toby's issues, but have been meaning to have another look at it now that I"m having trouble with Ginny too. I think it pertains to her behaviors a lot more.
