At the emergency vet - again

Ha - can you tell when I'm quiet for a bit that Tully is sick again?! She's had enough of being sore I think. DUring the week she got out of her enclosure and raided the rubbish bin, so now she's very sick. On top of that she's trying to do too much, throwing herself up and down the back stairs (where there;s grass so she can eat it and be sick). And yesterday she decided to chase some Kangaroos. It was very bad timing that a few roos decided to hop straight in front of her when I'd just gotten her out of the car. Needless to say she didn't get far but she did hurt herself a lot. I just shoved some codeine down her throat (I'm getting better at pilling), so hopefully that will help with the pain and the runs.

As for me, I'm darn sore and my drop foot is more droppy than ever. I think getting her stroller out of the car and assembling it, and then getting her in and out of it is flaring everything up. I try to leave her home but she really, really wants to come out.

And then I have this adolescent at home that's bored and crazy. Yesterday she discovered that Kangaroos are something that should be chased (thank you Tully), that's in addition to bunnies. Puppyhood is easy, it's adolescence that's the trying part!

That Tully - she just has decided to keep living her life the way she wants to, infirmity and illness be damned. Gotta love her spirit although I'm sure it is crazy-making to deal with. I'm sorry it has flared up your issues as well - hope things settle down.

I'm so sorry..but KANGROOS!??
I’m so sorry Caro...like Chris I have a hard time wrapping my head around Kangaroos jumping the fence and running through the yard! That doesn’t happen here too often
Better than Ann's Bobcat!

Where I live (the Australian Capital Territory, aka 'The Bush Capital' aka Canberra) there are tens of thousands of Kangaroos. We were walking around the University campus and with Covid I think there's more roos than students atm. So I should have really known better - I just didn't expect Tully to go after it.

I think Roos are like cockroaches, they will survive the apocalypse!

I've seen that video. What that guy did was totally inappropriate and illegal. The roo was only protecting it's territory from the pig hunting dogs. And although it could have killed the dogs and kicked the crap out of that guy, it chose not too. The males Eastern Greys can actually get larger than that one, but honestly, with how much they are harrassed by dogs and dickheads they are pretty docile. Of course they breed in huge numbers as there are no predators. Thankfully my dogs look like bunnies to the roos - it's only when Tully starts barking at them that they hop away, which of course means the dogs want to chase. I do try to keep the dogs on lead when we are around roos, but then they go hopping right in front of us!

I wanted to call the guy exactly what I thought of him...an A...... but thought I’d be polite. Dickhead is a good term but not quite strong enough if ya know what I mean!
