Bad day with Ruckus

Ruckus luver. Is Ruckus neutered? I know intact males are or tend to be more aggressive. Best of luck with Ruckus.

The author of Control Unleashed (CU) has a Yahoo group? Wow! I gotta get myself on that! I saw that a DVD of her CU seminar has recently been released too.

Adolescence in an intact male is really a pain in the rear. How we handle this period of the dog's life however seems to play a huge part in how the dog will turn out once it's fully mature, so I say we strap on our treat pouches, keep drilling our pooches and hope for the best!

I forgot to mention, Ruckus was nuetered at 4 months old.

I have heard of control unleashed and i have been thinking of getting it. When i was going to order it, it was out of stock everywhere i could find it!

I was told many many years ago that a pure breed Shelties are NOT aggressive Yes my gril will go nuts at the mail man Last fall she went right up to him and was braking and getting nuts I told him just try to pet her and he said to me are you NUTs I said go try and see what happen will he did bend down and try to pet her and she just ran back in to the yard aout 20 feet turned around and just sat there and bark He said to me what was that about and I told him shelties are not aggessive and will not bite him I have NERVE herd of a sheltie biteing someone Not a pure breed sheltie :confused2:

that is not true any dog no matter what breed can bite! I was bit in the lip by my best friends sheltie when I was 12. my sheltie Skyler has bit me, my husband and my son before. he has a problem with us leaving and bites our feet when we try to go out the door. and finally my oldest sheltie pepper almost bit our teenage neighbor girl. she went in our yard without permission so pepper went after her. if she wouldnt of jumped back fast she would have got her leg bit! All sheltied involved are purebred AKC reg. shelties

Watch a few episodes of The Dog Whisperer. Cesar Millan can whip any dog into shape.

I tried using some of his "techniques" on my Sheltie (specifically the ones for walking on lead a few steps behind me). Honestly, all I ended up with was a Sheltie who was becoming very unhappy about going for walks.

Quite honestly, there is a lot on controversy around his training methods. Here are a few for reference:

To contrast, I hear the opposite about Victoria Stilwell from the Animal Planet show "It's Me or the Dog". Her techniques are the opposite of Ceaser's in that she uses positive training - clickers, treats, other rewards, to get to the behavior. Sorry, I don't have anywhere near the amount of articles about her that I've been able to find on Ceaser.
