Barking while at work

I can't get the video to work. :(

I often wonder if mine are barking when I'm gone as well. I don't have a way to video them. None of my neighbors have ever complained, so I hope that means they are quiet. Meggie barks when I'm leaving in the morning, but I think she settles down quickly. She's usually watching me out the window when I'm driving off and she's not barking then.

I would bet Toby and Ginny are playing off one another, wishing they could figure out how to escape their crates and PLAY!!! Was Toby crated at his previous home? Maybe he's not used to being crated??? What's Sadie doing through all of this?

I think music or the TV might be a good idea. It could help drown out outside noises that make them want to "defend" their home. I do know that Meggie goes nuts when someone walks by the house. I'm sure she does it when I'm not home too.

Oh, I see. Probably I'm at work at the same time, so I won't get to see. :(

So you can check in on them when you're at work? I want that!

It's 3pm EST here. They're doing awesome today, they've been sleeping since I left. So relieved they're not so stressed today! I really hated seeing them carry on like that. I guess I'm doing something right. :smile2:

just curious since I didn't see the webcam the first day, Did you have the crates covered on the first day. Each time I looked at them today there were doing great. I always year Cozmo when I get home, but many time's it's not until I hit the porch so he starts barking when he hears me. A month ago after Maggie passed away I really wondered how he would do on his own, but he's done remarkable well.

No, their crates were not covered yesterday and they seemed to be feeding off of each other's anxiety. It was suggested to me that I cover their crates so that if one dog was anxious it might not impact the other so much.

They were like different dogs today compared to yesterday. They barked for 4 hours yesterday and slept all day today. They were even calmer when we came home and didn't do so much carrying on.

Chandler gets stressed when I leave but than shuts up as soon as I am out the door. My vet did suggest Rescue Remedy or the pheromone plug ins when he was getting too aggressive when I left the house but I got a gate to block him from getting to me when I left so I never tried them. I do hear they work though.
