Black on Black + White on White -a review

I have JUST noticed Pierre's ears get a little rusty. I might get him some Black on Black for his 2nd birthday which is on the 20th. I mean, what is a bi-black Papillon if his defining fringe is brown? Can't have that!!!

Oh, and  to you for having such luck with Fluff's fur. Duncan's coat dries in RINGLETS!!!! I brush, brush, brush, but I bet he was the scraggliest pup at the Sheltie get-together. Sigh. Sasha doesn't count because she just had pups. Abbie dries nicely, though, so I can only 50% complain about it.

Hi Jessica! Fluffy's coat looks in fine condition. You're doing a good job. As far as her red hair around her ears... it look like it is just the normal extra fine hair that is around all our shelties ears. It is a bit red... but probably just because this hair isn't strong like her body hair is. If it bothers you I'd just get some thinning shears and thin it out.

Fluffy has the 80's crimper style look behind her ears that Smudge does. It annoys the triggerfish out of me, but what can ya do besides brush with a slicker and maybe add some baby powder?

Erin told me that if I had a blower it might help dry her ear fur out some and not make it as bad. I'm not investing in a blower anytime soon though.

Duncan was supercute- Cranpup's fur is a little curly- especially just after it dries
and yes, Pierre needs some special treatment to stay handsome

Ok, dumb question.....

You have a tri with a white ruff. You bathe him with BoB. What does it do to the white ruff. And conversely, you use WoW to make the ruff sparkle, what does it do to the black or sable fur?

For Indy, I've being using the Ice to help prevent rusting. It helps some and because it's leave in, I think it is longer lasting.

When I bathe Bailey, I only use WoW on the parts of her fur that is white. I first wash her whole body with a general shampoo and then wash her white fur with WoW. Lastly I use CC's after bath.

I don't think the WoW does anything to the colored parts - it doesn't bleach the fur. I've been using it (or the equivalent, there are a lot of "blue shampoos" out there) for years on legs and ruffs before shows, and haven't seen a need to be careful to keep it off the sable fur.

of course, why don't you ask me about the time I tried to use white minx directly on the slightly-yellowed parts of a ruff the night before a show... The poor dog came out looking like a little old lady with blue hair! I managed to get most of it out, but she still had a, um, bluish cast the next day. Mom was not happy!

Just a tip, the blue shampoos work best if you lather it in and leave it on for a few minutes (some products say up to 15 minutes) instead of rinsing right away. If you lather the white parts, then lather and rinse the non-white with regular shampoo, then rinse out the WoW, it should have a good amount of time to work in. (I like to do "first on, first off" - lather back legs, lather front, lather ruff, then rinse in the same order - but maybe I'm overthinking it.)
