Bone/Fine Bone

I just want to get what you guys are personally thinking looks more collie like? In your opinion does my Player look more collie like. http://www.ajshelties.com/Player.html It's ok to say what you want.... I think he is a fine looking sheltie and have some judges fawn over his head. I mean it is everyone to their own personal opinion... Just trying to figure out what you guys are looking at what is collie looking?

JMO but I have not seen a head here that looks like a collie to me.

Really? To me that Sheltie has a definite stop and looks nothing like a Collie. When I think about the differences between Sheltie and Collie heads, the stop is key. Also, it seems to me that proportion of the muzzle is different with Collie having a muzzle that appears is longer and narrower in comparison to the rest of the head.

That is the way I interpret it also, to me Collie heads are vastly different looking. That was why I asked as to what view they were collie looking, from the top looking down collies are totally different starting with their eye placement going down to the the shape of the wedge of the head. And from the side profile view all the shelties with links posted have have a nice stop.
Just my opinion and preference though.

Your shelties still have those beady bright Sheltie eyes. For me....collies eyes always look like they are half baked all the time  I mean that in a good way, of coarse.

I think you are right, that both seem to be somewhat collie-headed, but still undeniably Sheltie...to those that know better!

Lovely pups!

I think Player is sheltie like. He's got more stop than a Collie would, and doesn't have the longer/thinner head of a Collie

I agree. Collie's have virtually no stop, and their faces/muzzles are more proportionate to their size. Even more noticeable in the Europeans, I think, but maybe its just that their finer bone structure makes it stand out more. I think the Europeans tend to have more of a "scoop" as well. (I know that's not the right terminology).

I do agree with Narmowen, I like girls to look like girls and boys like boys. I've seen some pretty "butchy" females out there.

In my Timber's case, he was a boy, who looked like a girl! But he was only about 13.5".
