Ooooooh! Another lurker comes out of the closet! Wonder home many more of you there are out there.....? :wink2:

Very cute! In about another two weeks, the pup will be bigger than your Pap! (who is also very cute, btw). Don't you just love babies! I'm very jealous!
 
Welcome to the Forum. Wonderful photo album as well as the pictures of your Pap and the pup! I had a wonderful tri-color Papillon for 14 years. It's been a bit over three years since she died and I miss her every minute of every day. My Sheltie is a handsome sable fellow named Spencer. I often wonder how my very spoiled pap, Skye, would have dealt with Spencer. She ruled the house and kept all seven cats under control. Spencer has taken over that job quite nicely.:rolleyes2:
 
Probably just my pride feeling this way, but I swear Duncan can already come when called. I was trying to see if he recognized his name (the breeder has been using it with him) and he came every time I called it! Then again, it could just be puppy excitement at getting attention. Still, Pierre *still* has trouble with that one with distractions (tried hours at Petsmart and on long leads at the dog park, but it seems other pets are his ultimate demise for attention - we'll see if this makes it's way into the Behaviors thing [but I doubt it as this is a Sheltie forum... I'll have to remember that]).

And Barb, I don't mind being a poster child for the lurkers. But if one is reading this, they should know it is so much better posting than just reading the entire 41 pages of Granite's 9-pup-litter tale... *cough* I mean, just reading the other posts.

I do love Papillons - very intelligent and portable. I think Duncan may sway my preference to be 50-50 (if just the two times I've seen him are any indicator). Pierre is good about "kitten round-up" at night, so I can only imagine how a herding dog does!

absolutely not pride - he does know his name. My Deska came to me as a pup already knowing his name. Deska's name was Des when I got him and he knew it so well he even answered when anyone called out to my step father who is also called Des.
 
Welcome to the group and congrats on the new pup!! I hope you love it here as much as the rest of us do! Very cute pics of your new pup too!!
 
Caro - I hope so! It took us all of a few minutes to pick his name. It seemed very perfect for his temperament (apparent even with that first meeting). And even though it is the same number of syllables as Pierre, the stresses are in different places, so I don't think they'll get confused.

I'm hoping my pups will be good matches for each other. Pierre is very active and seems to never tire, so another high-energy dog will be great. My husband is excited about frisbies!

We get Duncan this Friday and I bet he'll be just under 4 lbs (or just over), which will be more than a handful for out 7 lbs Papillon!

Oh, question - Shelties have a rather large range of sizes. How good are parent sizes as indicators of offspring sizes?
