brilliant recall

take the clicker to the dogpark?
I always used to run in the other direction and said his name very excitedly and loud.. and keeping running.. Toffee cannot resist chasing me... lol

ALthough I looked like a fool, and had other dogs also trailing me, it worked :)
I called Toffee off a mouse the boss kitteh had inside *gag* the other day, just by leave it and then told him to come... worked YAY :)

Part Two is already out and I haven't made my lists yet!

I would like to figure out how to save the webinar so I can rewatch it again when I have more time. I'm pretty sure though that once its "on the market" we'll have to pay for it then!

It should be available until 29th March. Though, it's still not enough time. I made my lists, divided them into groups what i want eliminate, transfer etc etc, but sadly somehow I think I had to forget some stuff.... I guess, I'm not THAT observant. It seems like my dogs fave activities are basically running and chasing me/other dogs and tug-a-war. It's hard to figure out what is his most favorite thing that he wants anytime. I'd looooove to hear more about those games SG is using, also more about recall, but I'm afraid I'm out of money  Being student is hard. But I'm happy at least for those sneak peeks she has given out for free.

I thought I would post my review of Recallers 1.0. We had new game every day for a month and several webinars. Tons of info. Considering in our neck of woods one private lesson cost $100 I got a lots more for my investment.
I do not think SG invented all those games herself, I have seen some of them in different training books but what works is the system, clear presentation, building a pyramid, a relationship. Games are similar to what SG gives in her preview.
What does not work- as with anything else you need to commit to it. I think that is where most people go soft and things do not stick. You do things the way you do because it is easy, time saving or some other valid reason so changing it hard. You need to be good strategic planner and evaluate every step of the way you interact with your dog. SG def gives you plenty of info how to do it. You def get out of it more than just a recall. It is really a goal in itself- how to became best tastiest cookie for your dog. SG presented distractions in new and simple way for me, clear to understand and follow.
I would love if other recallers chime in with their reports. I did got an email that for recallers 1.0 second version with be offered with nice discount, I know I am looking forward to it.

The 5 Minute Formula to a Brilliant Recall is now open: click here

This is their paid course that SheltieChe had taken. I was going to join it, but didn't realize how expensive it was going to be. The cheapest package is $297. Most expensive is $997.
Good luck to those that get in and can afford it. Although a great course and always great in an emergency. I think I could put that money to better usage for other issues.

thanks SheltieChe....

and thanks for the link, but dammit I thought it was expensive last year but this year it's waaaaaay more. I can't afford it, no way. I thought if the price was around 147$ like last year, I could go and join them.... But this price is no way. I'd have to save up for months and months for this one. Too bad. Hope that someone can join them and let us know how it went.

yeah, price went up from last year. Although prices are high everywhere...One day doggie related seminar in my neck of woods starts at $130, generally $150-170, couple of days agility with someone widely known runs about $350, private sessions $100/ hr... so for $997 one gets about year of phone/email support from SG group.

Brilliant Recall is Brilliant Marketing!

Originally, I'd missed the fact, somehow, that the 3 part webinar was really a 3 part sales pitch. I watched Part 2 and 3 tonight. Part 1 had me intererested. Half way through Part 2 had me convinced....and then I realized what was going on.

I'm still considering it but won't get sucked into the buy now. I've got lots of things to spend $400 on.

I think her techniques are sound and remind me much of puppy school. If I really put some thought into it, I'm sure that I could devise my own 5 minute games using puppy school training as the basic premise.

She did give enough hints that tweaked back to puppy school that I think I could leverage from.

So, no, I don't think I'll be signing up. But I DID take copious notes during the webinar to refer back to.

I did Recallers 1.0 and can't say enough about it. The games really really helped me get Romeo focused and also improved his drive. Romeo as some of you would know, had a lousy recall and preferred to sniff and mark than come back to mama. He would also run off during/before running a course because of some dog entering the dog park or some incredibly urge to mark a nearby tree.

Having gone through SG's course tho, I could CALL HIM BACK from distractions which would once have sent him running from me. Her course gave me the confidence to enter our first trial, knowing he won't run away and would run with me. When at a dog run now, when I call him to come, he comes! He's not perfect yet (esp at a greater distance with one leg in the air) but this is a HUGE improvement from before. I regularly use SG's games to get Romeo focused on me before obedience and jumper classes.

With Juliet, SG's games kept her recall from disappearing. Juliet can be recalled from the far end of the dog run while playing with dogs. And she run like the wind to me. She's over a year old now and her recall quality actually got better through her adolescence because we were playing those games.

I've read countless books and watched many dvds on dog training, etc but they never had such an impact on my working relationship with my dogs. I don't get anything out of this review, but I've been telling anyone who would listen to sign up for Recallers. It's pretty darn amazing.

SheltieChe, did you make a video for Recallers? If you did, you get Recallers 2.0 free.

I wish I was that proficient with camera and could do it but I am very basic. I am considering entering recallers 2.0 at discounted price as I am one of those people that need class structure to set my schedules and work on it and keep up with it. I did miss most of site chats but will read it now. There were plenty of very smart people with very good suggestions when people had some blocks down the road... now it seems set up more like a forum so will be even easier and you are so right, it is much more than just a recall...
Yeah, brilliant marketing too which backs up superior product...
it is all so relative... do you really buy those designer label products because they are so superior? I think it all depends... SG def got brilliant team of people working with her and great business acumen but psychologically she is mind blowing perceptive... few people are that lucky... the only other phenomenal dog person I know is Susanne Clothier who leads Guiding Eyes program in US, selecting puppies for the program with her CARAT testing...
Barb, puppy games... yep, you got it. There is no rocket science there for sure. The thing is they work and yes, you CAN recall your dog from some tough distractions, improve your relationship with your dog and just be in a calmer state because you know you can control your dog... I was not able to figure it out on my own even though I am voracious reader, took tons of classes, private lessons and have friends in dog training business...
