Colon Cancer

Dakota's cancer

Hi,sorry for taking so long to reply to your question about Dundee & her battle with stomach cancer. As I recall after the vet specialist performed a biopsy, blood & surrounding tissue workup he found the tumor to be localized & had not spread to any other organs.Dundee was lucky & the vet was highly skilled in dealing with cancer in dogs & cats.Dundees early symtoms were as follows
-stopped eating
-started throwing up stomach bile steaked with blood
-drinking large amounts of water, which she promptly thru up.
We offer you & your family our heart felt sympathes during this trying time with Dakota.Blue skies Becky- Cody,Wendy & Cole

Becky I just read the update on Dakota, and I am so very sorry. I look forward to hearing what the vet feels needs to be done and I know he is he is a family member and you are in my thoughts and prayers. Having gone through cancer with our Katie I know your heart and mind are swirling right now and it is difficult to make sense of anything. Hang in there and give True a big hug!!!

Well.....we finally met with the oncologist today. We were realized to hear some better news!! They feel Dakota should start chemo today and were very positive. The chemo is once a month. The chemo has a 72% chance of shrinking the tumor and maybe even going away. Dakota has to continue his meds to get rid of the infection in his prostate for 2 wks. The oncologist told us there was still hope for Dakota...my dad responded by saying..through Jesus there is hope :) They did a complete exam to make sure Dakota was still healthy all over (besides the tumor). We go back in 3 weeks to see if this dosage of chemo is shrinking the tumor. We certaintly are praying it does! Dakota has to go next week to the regular vet to have blood work...just to make sure the liver is not being impacted by the chemo (as with any meds).
We all have thanked God and are still praying that he will heal Dakota.
I want to thank everyone especially for your prayers...but secondly for your support.
I know the chemo will not cure Dakota...but God can. So keep praying everyone!! My family has rejoiced today and are praying for the best.

Becky, Prayers are remaining with you and Dakota !

Please send my best wishes and prayers to your parents as well. Big hugs go out to Dakota and your family. With God all things are possible.

That is good. My prayers will continue.
