Crazy Time...Is this all shelties??

Lol

The zoomies hahaha my other sheltie loved doing this and I'd just stand on the spot and let her run around like crazy hahahaha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkSLrbhvSYk&feature=channel_video_title you can see how Pudding did her zoomies here :D I actually think its quite funny and like it when she does them :D:D She use to be so excited <3

My pup Nellie has a 'crazy time' ever so often where she TEARS around the couch in hairpin turns, or she TEARS around the table, into the computer room and makes a 180 turn on a dime. Does your sheltie do this??? I love watching it.:lol:.but is this just something mine does?:confused2::smile2:

hmm, am I the only one that does not see zoomies as positive sign? If my pups are having zoomies in the house it means to me I did not pay attention to their needs and they need more exercise and training... tired dogs- happy dogs...

I don't know if I agree or disagree with this....but I was wondering something along these lines. My dogs almost never do any zoomies. Sometimes they will chase each other (and the cat) while playing, but that's it. It makes me think that they are getting tired out elsewhere (walks, agility).

I dunno...I can take Clancy for a two hour hike - not a stroll but a lung bursting climb a mountain cross a stream hike - and he'll still come home and race around the house like his tail's on fire!

Meanwhile, I'm passed out on the couch with an ice pack and a bottle of advil :dead:

As much as I adore watching zoomies, if my boys started doing it alot, then it would probably signal me that they needed more stimulation.

However, zoomies are not the same as two energetic dogs chasing each other. My boys do that all the time. True zoomies is like some neurons suddenly burst in the Shelties brain and sets off an uncontrolled rocket of energy. My forever pup used to get them more often than these two....usually if he wasn't getting enough exercise.

As with anything, I guess it'd depend on your dog. And as we've read here, there are some dogs that just have endless amounts of energy. I can see it both ways, so I really do think it's up to the owners to know their dogs well enough to know if the zoomies are a result of not enough exercise or just some fun time (ETA: when I say fun time, I mean zoomies while playing and yes, I agree with Sharon, zoomies is different than just dogs chasing one another).
