Crazy Time...Is this all shelties??

Mine do it all the time, inside and out. They are a little careful these days since they collided head on on Tuesday. Emma quite often has ahold of Liam's tail in the running.

Grizz who turns 2yrs in May just got them last night. He, Bock, Porter, Jamie and Cassie were playing and suddenly Grizz took off round and round he went as fast as his bi blue butt would go. The others went crazy and a sheltie zoomie frenzy occured. Wish I would have had my video camera.

we wish you had the camera handy too

Zoomie brigade

i recently read on sheltie nation someone use the word zoomie and i thought, is that what prince has been doing for all of his 3 years of life. i had never seen this before and lisa and i just laughed our heads off. it always seemed to happen when prince was overly joyed or happy with something. last night we returned from taking care of our grandson and prince had been alone for an extended period which happens 1-2 times a week and i immediately took him out and he looked at me and went into a ZOOMIE. then, he was winding down and i said "go prince" and he took off again. prince gets that look and his ears go back and he streamlines and then its all over, ZOOMIE TIME. i really love the word. someone else on the thread used ABCD and that was funny. thanks for letting me post because it gives me great joy just to write this stuff::smile2:

Mya was full of zoomies yesterday. She had a 6 month old rottie pup to play with and that was the light of her life. Since the pup tired out easy Mya decided to do fly-bys. She tucks tail and runs at her opponent at full speed and then swerves at the last moment, this usually makes the other dogs chase her....which she loves.

I just love watching those zoomies and 'fly-bys'

zoomies

So that's what they're called. Sandy does those every day every time I play with him! I think my mother coined the (affectionate) phrase "running like a fool." He does them outside and inside. When I play with him inside he runs the full length of the den and computer room (jumping over the stool that I put there just for him) and back and then jumps on the couch and does it again. it can last half an hour. When he's really excited he runs up and down the stairs, so cute! I encourage them (it tires him out and it's funny) by cheering him on and clapping. I wish agility wasn't so expensive because he would love it.

Got to love all the descriptions of Sheltie zoomies! :biggrin2:

I find with two Shelties, I have less zoomies and more all round raucus play.

But Bacca still loves to chase his tail. He does it at least once per day. It's so silly I have to laugh, and when he's done, he even seems to be kinda embarrassed by it. He kinda slinks away, looking over his shoulder, as if to say "Gee, I sure hope noone was watching that!)

Buffy does zoomies when she's being really crazy or when another dog is over, but usually she just starts chasing her tail, gets really involved in it, and then bangs into a wall because she's not looking where she is going. Sometimes she chases it a little bit, catches it, and then looks really proud and prances around for us like we should be impressed. Or else she chases her tail like crazy and then catches sight of it and runs away from it like it's going to attack. So adorable!

Spring is usually zoomie time. Buffy does bonker zoomies after she's been on a walk and the weather is surprisingly sunny, bright, and warm. She also does it after she's been on a walk in the snow. (She loves the snow.)

I'll have to get this stuff on video one of these days. I do have Buffy zoomies with Markley on video!
