Deska has elbow surgery

We had a bit of an incident yesterday so the cast is now off. The vet nurse said I could let him walk around the house as long as it was a confined area. But he decided to join Tully barking in the back yard and hurt his left leg. The specialist checked it this morning and thought he didn't do too much damage, but she didn't want to put the cast back on as his legs are quite irritated. Stitches are still in though.

I'll have to get a photo of his legs - talk about scrawny, sheltie bodies were never designed to be seen naked!

Kitty hasn't returned. I think now she won't (altho I still go out looking 3 times a day). It's too cold for a skinny little thing to survive for long. The vet had a couple of young rescue cats waiting for adoption. Tully was really drawn to them - esp the female who mewed just like Kalypso. I guess Tully does miss her kitty.

Sounds like a rough day...sorry. Deska just wants to try out those bionic legs. Shelties do look very naked without fur. Praying for a better day tomorrow and that your kitty returns, too.

And this is why Shelties shouldn't be shaved! Lucky the mohawk hair cut covers a lot of the side shaving. But I brought him a kids cardigan that covers his legs so at least we won't be too embarassed when we go out.

Oh, poor Deska. The cardigan sounds like a good idea for more than just hiding the naked legs. It's still late fall/early winter where you are so it will help keep his legs warm.

what a dear!!!!
HE really is wearing socks, nobody told him he couldn't run and chase just yet, or I should say he wouldn't listen, lol

I feel so bad for your Kalypso, I still hope for you, cats are tough even skinny, little ones... Do you have a blanket or something with your and her smell outside so if she is lost she can smell it, possibly?

Is it just me....or do all of you also wonder how those skinny legs hold up the body? I'm sure mine (as the dogs) would look the same if I shaved their legs too. Poor Deska. Hope the cardigan thing works out.

Now, keep quiet Deska. You don't want to hurt yourself nor pop them stitches.
