Dawn, you and Chandler remain in my prayers, along with Gypsy. It's not an easy road you are going down so continue as you have to take it one day at a time. You're a great mom. We're here if you need us. ((hugs)) from me and the girls.
Dawn, remind me how long you've had Chandler? The thing I've found with my puppy mill rescue is that I can't expect her to act like a dog, let alone a sheltie. She has no herding instincts left, and barely any doggie instincts. I've had her six months, and she's been out of the mill for just under a year, and she is FINALLY starting to sniff things when she goes outside! Sounds crazy, but it's the first sign of "doggie curiosity" I've seen in her. But then, we're guessing she could be 10 years old, so to live in a mill for that many years makes it more understandable that all of those instincts have just gone away.
So anyway, what I'm trying to say is that you know Chandler best, but you may not be able to link his behavior to something you'd expect from a "normal" sheltie in this situation....does that make sense?
Keep us posted on how things are going!
Hugs,
Chris
