Does your Sheltie punish his/her self?

If Edan thinks he's in trouble for something, he hides under the dinning room table.

We haven't had CJ long enough to figure out if she has any interesting quirks like this.

Somethings Saidy does the "oh man, I'm in trouble" walk of shame, ears down head and shoulders hunched down, tail down and walks slowly over to me but for other things like getting food off the coffee table she eats it up real fast and then looks at you all cute like "that was so yummy!...oops was that maybe not for me? oh gosh, I'm sorry" but I know she knew from the start it wasn't for her.

If I caught Chelsea doing something, like ripping up a newspaper, or other thing she shouldn't have been into, I NEVER raised my voice, quite the opposite. I'd stand, clear my throat (and did that get her attention!), and ask in a quiet voice, 'What was this for?'

Chelsea's head would drop, and then came the 'Oh No, I've been caught' look.

I suspect, that at one point in her life before me, Chelsea had been punished with newspaper. Whenever I lit the fire, and crumpled paper up to light, she would come over and sit by my left side, with her head down. It tore me up to see it, but she did it for her entire life.

April, on the other hand, hears me crumpling paper, comes on the tear, ready to tear. She has a riot with it. Christmas morning, with all the wrapping paper, she's in her happy place.

April doesn't seem to make a connection between right and wrong. She rarely gets into stuff she shouldn't, but nothing that I've found seems to make an impact on her. Just goes on happily through life.

Ellie's philosophy in life, "It's only wrong if you get caught." She has no shame, no guilt. Her expression, no matter what is going on, good or bad, is a smile.
