Sometimes it can be other animals taking it out of people's garbage cans. I know that was an issue in my old neighborhood on garbage day.

Yes I thought of that too but since we all have the community trash cans with locking lids I suspect it was not an animal. Raccoons are pretty good with their hands though.

It was the immediate vomiting that really scared me, I will definitely give him a pat from you. Hope all is well with your family and have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Poor little guy. My roommate a couple years had a drill spot on an ant mound. She got bit so badly that the nurse said if she got bit again she would have gone into anaphalatic shock. I can imagine with a much smaller body the reaction would be dramatic.

That is what I was worried about especailly since he started vomiting. I thought oh no is his throat going to swell and close now? I have gone into anaphalactic shock and it is scary!

I had never heard of Fire Ants until I went to visit my dad in Florida. I found out when I decided to be a good daughter and weed his flower beds for him. I still remember the pain, the blisters and general misery. I can't imagine getting them on my tongue or soft palette. Poor Hartley and smart mommy. Glad he is feeling okay and that the vet was still at the clinic when you got there.
