EAST COAST shelties & humans remain safe.

Is this just for eastern Ohio? I'm central, but haven't heard much in terms of needing to make preparations.

Hope everyone stays safe!

I am in soutwest Ohio. We have a wind advisory here, because of 50mph winds. No drastic preps just a warning. Tomorrow might be another story, where we have 20mph winds, if it weakens or turns.

We had 50mph winds here before but nothing drastic, might have a limb fall from a tree. It gets me because it is a different story according to local or national news. Right on the line, away from the line of Ohio, won't do much and then wind advisory.

We'll be fine in Ohio, might see a few snow flakes. Might mess up Halloween, we are ready for 150 kids. Oh boy, we might be on a sugar high, dentist will love us. Better yet donate it somewhere.

We're in the middle of it now...the wind is blowing a gale and it's raining sideways. We have huge trees down all over our property. One took out my back pasture fence and another my new dog fence, argh! Half of a big pine tree just came down barely missing our front porch. Have no idea how I'm going to get the dogs out!! :hide

Thankfully, we lost power briefly but it came back on...so far. :fl

I am just catching up here on this thread. I sure hope everyone is going to be ok.
Will keep all of you in my prayers. Try to check in when you can. Ann I hope you are ok.

nothing to bad here, very windy today. Other than that we're good.

Heavy rain and gusty wind. Power was out a few hours this morning but is currently on. Hubby works for emergency management so Shelby and I are prepared for the worst. Generator ready and plenty of food and water. They just shut down major highways in Philly. Stay safe everyone!

We still have power!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The lights have flickered on and off, but have stayed on!!!!! We were pretty lucky here, I think since we lost soo many trees during Irene that were weak and dead the ones remaining are fairly strong. It has been blowing a gale out there...I went down the street to shoot some pics and I can honestly say I had a hard time standing straight up! The water is very high though..It wont reach us since we are up enough...but the people a block down may not be soo lucky...

So my house is brick, then cinderblock, then plaster in the apartments. The water on the west side of the house is being forced through the brick and cinderblock, and dripping onto the floor. The west-facing front door is also leaking. My dogs are done going outside for the night, they can pee on the floors.

I am hoping the worst is over & things are ok for everyone dealing with Sandy. We are a bit more used to dealing with it down here but it still is never easy. Please be careful & stay safe. Sometimes after the storm can be dangerous with all the debris & power outages. Hoping to hear a good report from everyone. Ann, we are keeping you close in our thoughts. We lost over 400 trees & trees did major damage to us in Katrina. I kept telling myself I now have firewood to last a lifetime!
