So happy to see so many of you checking in and safe. Trees can be replaced but our lives and the lives of our precious Shelties can't be. God bless all of you and to those without power I pray it returns soon.

Pretty sure the eye passed over us earlier this morning but compared to the towns elsewhere in the susq. valley we got off really easy. No power loss, some flickering, lots of leaves down and the creek is pretty swollen but no flooding! Olive and I went for a walk around my hometown and we got off a lot easier than last year when when most of the town was underwater.

Heard from a friend who lives near us and our condo didnt even lose power. We are heading home tomorrow so I can be back for class (yay?)

We are all okay here too. The storm seems to have skirted around us so although we got some high winds, not nearly what was being predicted. The horses were okay this morning and no sign of aggitation in their stalls. My TV didn't even flicker, unusual out here when it's storming as we are on a satellite. I have to call my brother in Newfoundland to make sure he's okay. If I hurry I might get neighbour's dog out for her pee before it starts raining again. Glad to hear you all made it through.

I have been thinking of you all, it sounds as if it was terrifying and the pictures on the news are showing all the damage and flooding. Such a relief to see people are checking in safe and sound.

All is well here... aside from the extended "storm-cation" that is making everyone a little stir-crazy! We set out for a run this morning, and chose a path that would take us all around town, to assess the damage. Aside from houses and businesses that were without power, and the fallen branches that I kept tripping over, it looks like our town weathered pretty well. (And our apartment never lost power - we are very lucky!)

So, in the interest of getting "out and about", we cleaned up and drove over to the local coffee shop to do some school work... the place was packed! With nowhere to sit, it didn't make much sense to stay, so we walked down the street to the public library. Same story... people of all ages, with all kinds of technology, were camping out on every available surface. Again, given that we were lucky enough to have power and heat, it didn't seem right for us to take up space, so we headed home.

The local university will be open again tomorrow (with lights and heat!), so we'll head up there to work. And then I'm back to to the office (thankfully!) on Friday. It's been nice to have the time off, but I'm ready to get back to work!

I am glad to hear that my Forum friends are OK. The amount of destruction - and the enormity of the workaday mess, with businesses unable to operate and people unable to get to work - is remarkable. It really makes me think how lucky I am to be dry and safe, with lights and heat and a sound roof and a working car. So many aren't so fortunate.

Happy to hear you all checking in and are OK. Unimaginable damage. On our coast the last few years it's been devastating wildfires. Good ol' Ma Nature is not a happy camper lately.

I will not miss the Texas wildfires now that we've moved. The last few years were a mess.

Glad to see that so many of you are able to check in and are safe. Take care. Clean up time can be dangerous, too.
