Farewell Jax

Oh Poor Anne Laurie!!

I'm so very sorry Chris. :cry: You tried your best to give Jax a great home but he's just meant to be an only dog. I feel so bad for you and little Annie Laurie. I can't even imagine the panic that has to have been going through your mind. :eek2: May Our good Lord watch over Annie to make a quick recovery and that Jax find a forever home where he can be alone as he obviously muct be.
 
My heart goes out to you, Chris. I'm so sorry for everything you've had to go through on this. A hug and some TLC for Annie Laurie ...
 
What a shame that Jax was not able to be part of the group, however, it was the best decision for all concerned that he find a different home. My old Honey was attacked once over one piece of food in a food dish and she was literally scalped by the other dog (a rescue husky). She was in shock and had to have emergency surgery for her wounds which were very serious. It was obvious I could NEVER put Honey through that again and Honey was the only dog for the rest of her life. I pray for you, your family, the quick recovery of Annie Laurie and a new forver home for Jax.
 
I'm so very sorry. You must be heartbroken. A tough, tough decision to make, but the correct one.

Fortunately you were right there to separate them. At any other time, you might not have been and the end result far worse.

Jax will find a new home, I'm sure, where he will strive and thrive!

Wow Chris, I am so sorry too. That was quite an experience. You positively did the right thing for Annie Laurie, and yourself by returning Jax to rescue.

This is something like my sister's Lhasa, she spent $800 on a trainer, because he is a fear biter. He just ripped her finger apart, attempting to get a drop of icecream my sister dropped, while she tried to pick it up. I am thankful you didn't get bit in the action.

Lhasas tend to be a one person dog, and it ain't pretty what happens. Maybe the rescue can correct his behavior. I am sure Jax will find a one person home to make over him. These furkids just don't realize how great they have it in the home that have them.

Ditto to the comment about you not getting bit. I was bit by a dog that I was house-sitting once. The dog was old, deaf and senile. I went to pat him on the head goodnight and he attacked my hand. I was off work for almost a week. I had major infection even though I'd gone to the hospital the next morning. I was somewhat delirious with fever.

Keep an eye on Annie Laurie to make sure she does not have any nasty residual effects from the bite.
 
Chris, I am SOO sorry to hear that. I hope Anne Laurie will be ok and that Jax finds a good home. It's so sad to hear that both dogs suffer because of this. I pray that Jax will be ok and Anne Laurie as well.
 
Thank you all so much. You have no idea how comforting all your support has been these last couple of days. Jax went back to the rescue -- I think he thought he'd been on a little vacation because he was very happy to see his foster Mom. Annie Laurie is healing nicely; the swelling has gone down with the help of warm compresses, and she's eating and playing. All the Ladies of the Club are much more relaxed and happy to be an exclusive group again. We've promised we'll keep it that was in the foreseeable future.
 
I'm sorry to hear this, Chris - am glad that Annie Laurie is going to be ok.

We've had one rescue we had to give back - Cowboy. STRONG doggie! He was a good boy but didn't get along well with some of our doggies. He just couldnt seem to fit in and we were afraid he might hurt one of the others. So we made the decision (I was more reluctant than SheltieMom) to send him back -- I hope he fared well.

Chris I'm happy to hear that little Annie is doing well. The poor dear she must have been so frightened as well as you to see this occur to your precious Baby. I know I would have been freaking out.:cry::uhoh: But your closeness and quick reaction saved her from more devastating injuries. God Bless you and all your little ladies.
