FERGY IS GROWING

FERGY is set for his surgery the 20th 0f June. Keeping him away from stitches should be interesting. Wife and I were both upstairs for probably an hour the other day with gate closed to stairway. He had dragged both blankets from his bed into great room, pulled towels out of clothes basket in laundry room, Found a towel and shredded it, pulled newspaper out of log holder at fireplace and absolutely tore it to pieces and spread all over the floor, and "Oh Yes" shredded the one piece of firewood left in the carrier, we have a black plastic bag covering the floor under his bed mattress, he had worked it over and took the pieces under dining room table. May be other things but I think we quit looking. Lol
He is growing "Pants", tummy feathers, beautiful bright white mane, and long shiny black hair on his tail. Think he is going to be a beautiful Tri Black/white/tan. Gives us those fabulous puppy kisses and plays and loves on Laddie most of the time they are awake. Almost forgot, both he and Laddie were in the flower bed in back yard. I gave one of my best and loud NO! and they sped for the garage door to get away from me.
Life is good for our Prince FERGY most of the time.

That was one busy puppy! It is amazing the amount of mischief they can get into in a short amount of time. We puppy sat again yesterday for 5 month old Jackson the sheltie, and luckily for us, the other 3 mostly kept him occupied. He was more interested in playing with them than getting into trouble.
A soft donut blowup neck collar might work for him with his sutures, otherwise a baby onesie or some little boy under pants with a hole cut for his tail.

FERGY had his surgery Thursday of last week. Vet told my wife to keep him quiet for seven days. Now anyone meeting FERGY knows too well that "ain't a gonna happen!" We have kept an eye on the incision with nothing but healing being noticed. He hasn't missed a beat. We put a leash on him when we brought him home Thursday evening. He attempted to lick a little but done very little after I told him "NO" two three times. Friday he went trotting through the house with the leash in his mouth. Fixed that impediment. He acts as though nothing whatsoever has happened to him, why all the fuss mom and dad?
Weighs in at 21.4 pounds and hasn't increased his height the last couple weeks from 14 3/4". Measuring from his shoulders to rump he is slightly over 18". Slight of build, long legged, intelligent beyond belief, sleeps seven to eight hours in his bed at night without any mishaps, barks to let us know he needs to go out during the day, drives big brother Laddie NUTS, and is positively melting our hearts with his antics and lovey kisses plus wanting into mama's lap.
Almost forgot: His mane is the purest white I have noticed in a long time including Laddie and his black coat shines and reflects light as if it was a mirror.
He will be six months old the 27th of June.

We think he knows he is cute plus the surgery hasn't slowed him one bit. Check the incision couple times per day, no problem at all and the swelling has gone way down. When Chip was a "Pre-Teen" he would give a sweet kiss if you told him, "I Love You Chippie". I tried it on this one yesterday and received the same.
I must remind folks that we retired a couple years ago and aren't really into traveling much anymore, ninety year old joints. A lot of our time is being involved with Laddie and Fergy. Obviously they love it and show their appreciation every day. Our grown up children have their own lives and we can do whatever at whatever time we wish. If only a few worldly things were in better shape our retirement would be almost perfect.
BTW: I sincerely hope my ramblings aren't too boring. Enjoy conveying the antics of our fur babies.

Living my retirement with Teddy being my sole focus is as close to perfect as I could ask for. He treats me MUCH better than any of my Doctors and hardly ever complains except when playtime is over.
In my humble opinion, We all are better off thanks to our sheltie pups being part of our lives.
