First Puppy!!!

Kali is perfectly fine. Thank God. She shows no sign whatsoever of the early mishap except a small aversion to the area where it happened that was quickly fixed with love and the sweet bribery of a treat :p

Loki is learning to love her, he even tried to groom her but she hardly stays in place and he quickly gave up.

Thank you everyone for your reassurances! It really helped me calm down :) this just proves I am a nervous mess and should not have kids, hahaha. I will keep my eye on her paws just in case but it seems like we are in the clear!

What a good kitty!

My three are really good with the dogs. We have had a cat/dog cycle for years. My old cats with open minds and a dog who was good with them. Then he raised my current cats with love. They in turn raised Shay and welcomed Melody and are raising Cubby.

One of my Aussies used to clean the cat ears. I would find them sopping wet but happy. The cats love to groom the dogs. It makes for some interesting hairballs!

So glad puppy was not injured by the mishap.

Oh. My. Goodness. Putting little miss next to the cat showing how teeny she is almost stopped my heart!

Watson is the resident cat ear cleaner around here... so gross, but they seem to enjoy it.. weirdos.

So great that they are getting along and sharing toys!

He is a Maine Coon and only 1.5 years old, he still has some growing up to do. Kali is not to small for her age, she was at the limit of the chart last week, breeder said she'll probably be barely within size (her brother was 10 inches at 8 weeks, I'm still surprised she kept him).

Watson cleaning kitty ears is hysterical, hope he gets some grooming as payback. Maybe some pics? I would love to see that in action

Update on Kali:

She is wonderful! no whining AT ALL at night (not even first night), goes to crate at 11pm and wakes up at around 6:30am (she actually waits until Loki wakes me up, lol).

Potty training has been easier than I expected; no pee accidents at all, just a couple of poo accidents in the beginning (diarrhea related) and she already knows "sit", "drop it", "leave it", "go crate", "up (learned this one from her brother, only trick I got him to learn -.-) and "give paw". We are currently reinforcing those and learning "down" and "come"

I am still surprised at how EASY it is training her! She learned sit in, seriously, five minutes. Learned "up" only from watching Loki do it ONCE and copying him...those sheltie brains are sure bright! :biggrin2:
