Freaking out here...

I feel so sorry for both of you! How awful! It does look like a spider bite to me, but I am certainly no expert! I am praying for y'all for this to heal quickly. Hugs to you both!

I can totally understand how you're feeling too. Hopefully there's improvement soon.

Mercifully we don't have nasty bity things here in the UK (apart from fleas and tick of course) so I can't think what it could be that caused those.

Revel once had a single hot, pus filled abscess on his hind leg which burst and drained on the application of a hot poultice. It took about two weeks to heal properly. I think that was caused by a thorn or sharp grass seed though.

Just checking in to see how she is doing today. Hope things are better.

I'm sorry it took so long to respond; been a hectic day. Vet instructed me to express the areas for the next few days. I tried today, but nothing much coming out. The area has gotten bigger and more tissue looks as though it has died.

I called the Vet this afternoon and he said for me to bring her first thing in the morning and they were going ahead to put her under and find out what is going on. She seems more "depressed" tonight as though not feeling super well.

The area just looks awful. I will be glad for the morning to come so I can get her to the vet and get her on her way to resolving this and praying it is not serious and will heal soon!

Thank y'all for your thoughts and prayers; I will post tomorrow night after she is able to come home.

Oh, I am so sorry it's not better! Glad to know that hopefully the vet can find out exactly what the problem is and get her all better! My thoughts and prayers for you!

I was thinking spider bite, or could be multiple spider bites. Maggie got bit by a spider two years in a row and on the same part of her body but one side one year and the other the next. Amazes me how how a spider can get through the thick coats. I am so sorry Emma is going through this and you, not a funt thing to have to clean up everyday. Glad she will be back at the vets to have surgery on it.
Maggie's bites took a while to heal. Saying a little prayer for Emma.

Hoping for a successful visit to the vet tomorrow, so that Emma can feel better and the wounds can heal.

So sorry you're going through this! Those wounds are so strange!

I hope all goes well tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you and Emma. Keep us posted on her progress!
