Gizmo is now a year and a half old, we have had him for a year and he is STILL NOT 100% HOUSETRAINED! and its driving me nuts!!! :gaah just now, we were cleaning and the dogs were playing. we went to check on them, and gizmo had peed on the carpet. and he is one that walks while he pees so we had a stream DOWN THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE HALL!!!! other times we will be playing with him and just all of the sudden, no warning at all, he will just stop and pee. sometimes, he will go months without an accident, then start having them again. then it takes us months to get him to not having accidents again.
then even when he is doing really good, its like he refuses to hold it very long. we can take him out like 3 times in an hour and he will still want to pee more. i swear the only time he holds it more then an hour at a time is when he is in his crate! he could hold it for probably 24hours if needed (dont worry, we would never do that to him:hide). when he is out i swear he could pee 20 times a day. and thats how its been since we brought him home a year ago!
We take him outside as soon as we take him out of the crate, every time. we try to make sure we take him out enough during the day. i thought we were doing everything right, but it doesnt seem like it. i just wish we knew what we were doing wrong. please help! i dont want to have to worry about him peeing on the floor for the next decade!

Has he been to the vet to check for a UTI or bladder stones? You also might want to consider an xray or ultrasound to make sure everything is anatomically correct.

When Bailey had bladder problems, we did an xray to make sure her urethra was normal. It didn't reveal anything abnormal. My vet suggester an ultrasound if the behavior continued.

If you are sure there is no medical reason for his excessive urinating, then I would do a lot of crating. Maybe he needs to learn bladder control. I would also keep an eye on his water intake.

My dog will be fine during the day. She will wait 6-8 hours before asking to go out, but at night, she'll drink a lot more water. She'll just gulp it down for no reason and then ask to go out every hour. I started removing her water, when I think she's had enough and this has reduced her need to go out as often.

Good luck, I hope you can figure out the issue because I know how frustrating it can be.

yes he is fixed, i guess i should have said that in the first post. he got snipped like in november last year

Something's not right with this dog I suspect. I think I would be looking into having the vet check him out thoroughly. Was he doing all of the above before his neuter surgery?

yes he was doing this before he was neutered. it actually got better after that. its not as bad as it was then, but still

i guess i should clarify my last one. we were still in the middle of potty training him when he was neutered. so after wards he did have less issues with peeing inside but it could have just been because he was doing better at potty training.

My Angel Pavi had this problem, and it turned out that it was mostly due to bladder stones. I would get it checked out at the vet.

HE JUST PEED ON THE COUCH!!!!!!!!! he has NEVER done that before. he just suddenly jumped up on the couch, which is normal. but then he peed! :gaah and he had been outside to pee less then an hour ago! i just dont know if its medical or not because he has absolutely no problems holding it for hours on end in the crate. he has never ever had an accident in the crate. this is only a problem when he is out of the crate. my husband is threatening to get rid of him if this doesnt stop. i think we will be making an apt for a vet check up. how much are ultrasounds and xrays, if it comes to that?

Please remind your Husband dogs are not disposable. This is a training problem or a health issue which I would tend to lean towards. I would definitely take him to the vet. Wishing you the best.
