Glueing ears- instructions

I have been gluing Lacey's ears. It's enough of a challenge to do that and to take the glue out. I can't imagine trying to do the tape. It's actually easier for me to hold her and glue the ears myself rather than have someone else hold her. she fights it. Her ears go pretty wonky when the glue is out, but she is only 5 months. I figure we will be doing this until about a year and then...well whatever her ears do, they will do.

One of the first threads I read, I met your post and your method, I find quite unique, this does no harm to the dog.

I'll try to explain what I do, is so simple...

I put a drop of glycerine on the top inside of the ear (the skin) and another drop outside, then with fingers massaging shaped clamp spreads some good third of the ear.

The outside appearance of hair is a little greasy, but you can put baby powder (on the outside face of the ear) to dry a bit and also add a little weight, but I already do not use, I do not care that they are a bit greasy.

I put it every two days, but now they have turned eight months old they need to see her to wear almost daily. Hopefully soon because his ears are final and so take my work more, not having to wait too much scrubbing the floor, close as many doors, hide the shoes, and not have to renew underwear destroy me ..... .

With this system, the problem is solved with their ears in a very simple and safe for the skin and hair.

My puppies are now 8 months old and they have their ears perfect, I couldn't share photographs, but I'll try to fix the next in my profile details because I think you'll see the image that I fix there....not sure. Just for you to see how their ears are.

They even get relaxed when I massage them with the glycerine...and look at my with that wonderful eyes that say "mum I love you too".

So I have finished reading the post related to glueing ears and so on.....but I told the glycerine method for the people who want to solve the problem so easy.

I do not read these threads any more, I am so depressed, but I am probably too sensitive about these little puppies.

How long did you use the method, my puppy is now 4 ½ months.
 
First I started glueing their ears, they were puppies (3 months old) so they played all the day pulling their ears to each other, and the tale too :lol: so they unglued them and even there were parts where the fur was off...and the head plenty of a mess of glue I couldn't get off but with scissors...I was glueing two weeks, ungluing for a week, and another time glueing again...since I had no fur enough for glueing because of the scissors and the pullings they did to each other getting their fur off.

When they were 4 months and a half I started with the blue tack (something like a gumm) but it desapeared in only one day, I suppose they ate each other blue-tack and they found it deliciouss....

I tryed then the tape, but it was the worse of all, they fighted every time, and always need help to do it...and it was off in less a day.

My very experimented breeder suggested me to use the glycerine, firs I thought it could be difficult to find it and the way you have to use it seemed so simple that I thought it couldn't work, but it does!!:yes:

They are now 8 months old and I continue with the glycerine...I won't stop before a year. I feel that their ears are becoming denitive done, because the cartilag is getting strong each day.

If I had known it before, I had never been using the other methods, wich were more expensive and uncofortable to my shelties.

And yes, I'm sensitive too with mine, and I think all the people in the forum are, so you see those tipped ears a lot! but most of all think that the correct ears give to their faces such a sweetest expression, and if the breed fix this is for one reason, so if you want to show them you have to do it.

So I feel I'm pretty lucky. :lol:

I like to work with my dogs and I have worked a lot with my German shepherd´s and so think I will do with my little Sheltie :yes:
 
I know this is a topic that has been talked and talked about, so please humor me! I haven't had a sheltie puppy in over 10 years, and we just re-glued his ears todau. Looking back at pictures from the day we got Cruz, they look way different. Just wondering if we've done them right? We didn't bridge them this time.. do you think we need to?
