Good-ish update on my Katy!

Can you go see her Jason or spend time with her? I’d think at this point they should allow it.
When I left her, she was pretty much out of it on pain meds so she had no idea that I was there. And she's in an oxygen cage, so I can't hold her or anything. I'm really just in the way, standing in front of the cage :-(

As of 10pm, though, there were no real changes; she didn't get worse, but didn't get better either. They let her go outside for a little bit, but her oxygen started to drop so they put her back in after only a few minutes. THAT's not a good sign, but they said that this isn't too unusual after a blood transfusion so not to panic.

She'll be transferred to Internal Medicine at 8am where the specialist will do an ultrasound, and they'll be calling me at around noon. I'll keep you all posted...

I agree with Piper's mom if possible you should go see her.. being there is very strange and if they will let you you could bring one of your shirts for her to lay on. Our vet did put the kybosh on that shirt thing when we had to leave a dog overnight- because of possible contamination. She perked up when we got there and was glad to see us but really went down hill when we left. So a visit is a double edged sword.. You know Katy and work with the advice of the vets. Such a hard time....

Jason sooo very very sorry, this is the post we have all dreaded. You and she did all you could do to keep her going, left no stone unturned. It is sad that our dogs live such short lives, it is sad we have to see them go, but we do. The wonderful part is and the part we have to carry with us is that Katy had the best life she could have had. in a loving and caring home--that is what we need to remember and work for and in her mind she knew till the end that she was loved and cared for by her pack. I would bet if she were to write the story of her life she would end it with " there was no place on this earth I would have rather been.." Drive carefully take your time saying goodby. Katy will be with you always in your memory, you changed her and she you, it was a gift.

I am so sorry about Katy.

I was devastated when Gavin passed....people here were the ones who got me through it (my friends were great, too, btw, but they didn't know what to say).
I was amazed at how many people reached out.

I was an emotional wreck for months....but getting pico helped me focus on something positive.
