Have you ever been amazed by something your Sheltie has done?

I feel relatively confident in my situation, thought these things happened when working not retired. :) I texted my Doctor to tell him what happened and he called me at home and changed things to make my situation better till I see him Tuesday. I know I talk about Teddy a lot, but last night he did what he always does but refused to stop. He is my Hero and takes good care of me.

I am going to guess it was the sugar he was reacting to, not the BP. There has been a lot of documentation on dogs sensing sugar.

I have always thought, Shelties are just a very special breed and not all people have the something to add a Sheltie to the family. But those that do are in for 1 incredible experience.

You all are so supportive and loving, it truly is a community and I am very grateful to everyone for allowing me to be a very small part of it and sharing it with me.

Ron, I’m so glad you’re ok and your doctor is so responsive. Teddy is certainly a hero…talk about doing something amazing! Clearly he is very attuned to you, what a special boy. Give him an extra cookie or ten and a pat from us and take care of yourself!
 
Hope you are able to address your BP - it can get scary. I have to really focus on stuff, things in our lives tend to affect me and if I focus on them, my BP has been up and above stroke level - it really is a battle to focus on good things - like Teddy!!! Be well!!!

Ann, my neighbors think my shelties are more viscous than their pittie mixes - one neighbor whose old dog bit me and could have killed me as he went for my liver/stomach area, doesn’t understand my fear of his dog but thinks Brodie is a beast cuz he barks, fur is up and he does that horsey front leg stomping run as he barks - I feel Brodie feels a threat and expresses fear, he’s NOT a scary dog, he deals with seniors with kid gloves but my neighbors don’t see that side of him… :(
 
Ann I will do that he likes 3 dog bakery cookies ,. :) I know he enjoyed his steak .My wife thought I was crazy having her fix one for him as I ate jello. But she's a cat person.
Sandy , Brodie sounds like he is just looking after his own and I will admit they can put on a display when they think it's needed. Any real dog person can see it for what it is

At 1 am I was asleep in my chair and he jumped on me and licked my face, I made him get down but he repeated this 3 times. I got up and didn't feel real good so I took my BP and it was way out of sight 220/127. After talking with my wife, I called the squad and went to the ER , were I found out my sugar was also very high. They patched me up and I see my Doctor Tuesday. Since I have been home Teddy has not left my side. I had my wife give him some steak as a treat this evening. :)

That’s amazing of Teddy! I love that you had your wife fix him a steak, a very well earned treat!
I know when I’m not feeling well my dogs stick close to me.

Teddy and probably 99% of our 4 legged members of Sheltie Nation would agree that steak should be the treat of choice :).
But remember, I am bias I think all Shelties are very Special. I think we all do, that is why this is very wonderful community of people.
