Hello from Baltimore, MD!

ah the gangly almost teenager stage, lol
Toffee looked like a coyote :rolleyes2:
hehehehe, Lyra is a DOLL, soooo cute, very pretty colour, too!

Hey birthday was August 18th, so she will be 7months next week!

I thought she was 5 and a half months.. Where did the time go?!

Sigh, she's getting spayed in two weeks, let's pray she doesn't go into heat before that.

Tell me about it..one day Trapp is just a wee pup..then next thing you know he's 7 months old.Honestly he grew up way to fast.It zoomed by,and I really was'nt plannig on it going that quick.

But I've said it before, our Earnhardt, seemed to take him forever to get to 7 months old,and when while he was aging,he one terrible ankle biting playful lab.

I think we as new dog owners were a bit overwhelmed with his antics.
And at night we would literally crash, cause he just wore us out.And we thought he would never grow up.

With Trapp,he was so easy, and he matured quicker in mind & body functions, than Earnhardt.Just so differant the two breeds.

Lyra is such a beautiful name, how did you all come up with it??

Megan is 6 months old and let me know a few days ago :eek2: that she's still not all the way potty trained. I can not trust her to always "tell" me she has to go potty. We're almost there but not quite :wink2:. I say all that to say, I am ready for adulthood :o

Lyra is a constellation actually. My nephews have informed me that it also the main character of The Golden Compass though.

My grandparents had a sweet sheltie named Lyra (My grandfather loved the stars and had one of those gigantic constellation books and when the poor child abused sheltie came home to him, he choose Lyra hoping naming her after a beautiful instrument, a lyre, that she would take the proud sweet persona) My grandparents have always had shelties and Collies, most from people who surrendered their pets knowing that they wouldn't say no. The former Lyra was handed over because she growled at the child....The child that jabbed her in the eye. JUST GROWLED! My grandfather to this day said he would have chosen to keep the dog and not the kid. lmao. Out of all the animals my grandparents had over the years (I remember them always having atleast 4-5 dogs at a time), Lyra has always been in my heart.

So New Lyra was brought home and that was the only name I could settle on. I brought her to my grandparents for 'approval' and they fell in love. She acts like a baby version and she makes me happy every day. I know pets are not supposed to be owned for selfish reasons, but this little girl keeps my heart aflutter after a long day of walking everyone's unruly mutts.
