Here's a picture of my mom's new dog, Daisy:

I haven't met her yet. I can't wait! She's 7 years old, and very overweight. The breeder didn't have much time to work with her to get her healthy, which is why she sold her (although she was very sad to give her up). My mom is working to get Daisy more active so she can get her figure back. :wink2: This picture is her hiding under a desk during a bad storm...poor thing!

Welcome and what a coincidence as I just got back from Ohio. Hopefully your trip here will be better though as Ohio rained on me and I barely got to run at all (Mid Ohio). There is a dog park under the raised section of 565 but I have only been by it. Also I think there is one in Madison but I am not positive.

Sca has his own park where he rains down carnage....

Hello all! It's been a while since I first made this thread, and now little Jazz has been at home with my husband and me for about 3 weeks. She's doing great, although we're still working to get her 100% housetrained. It can be frustrating (as I'm sure you all know!!), but she's a smart cookie and I know she'll get it down soon.

We had a bit of a scare last night. She ate a cigarette butt she found on the ground when we took her out before bed. (We live in an apartment complex...we do not smoke, but apparently our neighbors do!) She's only 5lb, so I got nervous and called the after hours emergency vet clinic. I'm so glad I did! Such a small puppy can get nicotine poisoning from eating 1 cig. butt. We had to induce vomiting by syringing a couple Tbsp of hydrogen peroxide down her throat. Luckily it only took one try...she wouldn't take anymore no matter what we did. After a few seconds we heard a crazy gurgling sound coming from her belly, and then she puked her little heart out. It was the SADDEST thing I'd ever seen, but I've never been so glad to see something throw up. The cigarette butt came right up, and she's doing just fine. Parenthood is hard!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of her.

Welcome to the forum. Jazz is a cutie pie. I'm glad that you were able to get that nasty cigarette butt out. Poor Jazz.

Still tiny. Sca is huge and gets called a Border Collie often  When she gets a bit bigger she needs to visit. I have a nice fenced yard and am over in the Moores Mill area across Chapman Mountain.

Welcome!

Congrats on your new puppy! We hope that you enojy it here on the forum. It is a fun place to come to for great advice,as there are many knowledgable folks here.

Our oldest is Trapp, sable male, and his brother Jasper (sable merle). They are 4 months apart.

We also have a 6 year old yellow lab, named Earnhardt.Affectionately known here as "Earnie".And also a 2 year old Himalayen cat, that is blind. Her name is Bumper~
