First time dog owner here! Enjoying our new family member, Shelby. He is now 7 months old and we love him. My dad didn't want a dog for my whole childhood cause they have the tendency to bark. So haha, we now that I am out of college -and yes, still happily at home :-)- we acquire a Sheltie pup (a very silent one though!! hardly any barking so far).

He is a perfect pup for our household and we absolutely adore him!

I am sure you will love your new pup. Don't expect silence forever though....they seem to come into their inner bark somewhere around 18 months :ick

Are any of you PA folks in the eastern part of the state? I'm so far east I'm practically in the Delaware...I'd love to know if there are Sheltie types nearby.
