Hope for Lily

A wonderful lady in Cedar Rapids rescued this precious senior. Lily is 13 or 14, with bad teeth, dermatitis, and a host of age- and neglect-related conditions. On 18 January she'll have a clean mouth, be spayed, and enter her golden years of love and contentment.

Here she is in the jammies the Nattering Springs gang sent. They also sent Vibrant Pets Senior Complete to help her on her journey to health.

Blessings to the wonderful lady who adopted this sweet senior girl and many prayers that Lily will have lots of time left to be safe and loved. These little seniors are so special and so thankful for any kindness they are given.

Could not have said it any better Trini!
What a sweetie! Love cost nothing and fills the heart and soul!
A priceless gift to both of them.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful story!

Oh my goodness, what a SWEET little girl Lily looks to be. Many kudos to the lady who has rescued her, there is a front row seat for people just like her. Please give little Lily a gentle hug and kiss from me. I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers that little Miss Lily does a complete and total recovery. :fl:fl

What a heart-filling story. Many thanks and good wishes to the kindest of ladies to adopt this adorable senior. My Ally is 13 and although she is having difficulties right now, in the main she remains her spunky li'l self. I have an incredible soft spot for the seniors. To think Lily will be cared for and cherished for the rest of her days is amazing.

Is Lilly with CISR? I have seen her updates on my FB. Poor little girl. CIRS is doing some amazing work with some Shelties in pretty bad shape.

I am currently following a sheltie named Heather. She is 16 years old. When they found her, loose, she was emaciated and dehydrated. So weak she could barely walk. Owner never reported her and when they found out who it was he did not want her back. Her owner didn't want to take her into the vet to find out why she was refusing to eat and was just letting her waist away. Well turns out she has a serious tooth infection. Had to have several teeth pulled. The infection was so bad it got into her system and they are currently fighting it off with antibiotics. It is a sad story really.. She is finally eating again now that her infected teeth are gone. Hopefully she will gain weight and improve.

The video of Heather gobbling down the ice cream made me do a happy dance : )

Yes, both are CISR rescues. My friend Sheila founded CISR many years ago and still helps. Lily is staying in Cedar Rapids.
