How NOT to glue ears.

By the time I was done, there was no fur left to reglue...And now, he ain't nothing but a hound dog...

Did you put glue inbetween his two ears?! :eek2:

Good lord, woman! It takes me forever to work glue out of just the ears. I can't imagine putting glue on the fur between the ears!

How NOT to glue ears!? Check out Bacca's pic. Check out the white blog between his ears.

I put so much glue between his ears AND misaligned them at the same time, that it took nothing less than a sledgehammer to break down that wall!

Aww! Bacca sure does know how to work the "poor me" look, doesn't he?

Jessica, Fluffy's ears look much more Sheltie-ish now. And she is adorable as usual.

But awful cute anyway!

I did the same with Justice's ears. They didn't turn out the best. I got better with Ember and Diva who I think have almost perfect ears. Key just a tiny drop of glue.

Ember has the best ears EVER. They are perfect. It's hard to wrestle a sheltie with one hand and glue with the other.

Might explain why after I got done there was random pieces of sheltie ear tape stuck to my pants. :rolleyes2:

That is why I use japanese tape. Not as messy.

I tried glue once, but it didn't work for me.

I use the glue and the tape. The glue is mostly used to hold the brace onto the tape.

The problem I have though is that glue will get on my hands, and then I'll touch random spots on her. So that means random glue on her fur in crazy places. Like her head, stomach, ect. :dead:

have u tried using a string to brace her ears? That's what my breeder used. she attached a string to the tape on each ear and then tied it in the middle

I'll stick with Jennifer's way. :wink2:

Let's see I'm already going to put glow in the dark stickers on the brace, so I guess now I'll need random elbow macaroni and cheerios. Don't little kids glue cheerios and elbow macaroni on to kindergarten projects?

Or, MAYBE I could take some cheerios and glue Fluffy a cheerio necklace onto her ruff!

I've got to give this photo shop stuff a try one day. :biggrin2: I'll make Jennifer have a heartattack.

I use tear mender glue. It is not sticky at all. If you get it on your fingers and you rub them together is just rolls off.:smile2: It also picks out of hair easily when wetted with a small amount of water as along as you don't make a great big wall. The nautral oils loosen it up over time. I tried jiffy sew once it was too sticky, hated it.

Oh yes, definitely!

My breeder showed me how to do it....I was just horribly inept at it!

Gluing between the ears is comparable to moleskins and japanese tape, if done correctly.

And I totally endorse the tear mender/speed sew way, if you don't get heavy handed!
